Well if true that is better news than being delayed until January, but is this the case of Apple shipping it full of problems that will be fixed eventually or are they shipping a rock solid and QA TESTED product?

2016 is going to be marked as the year where tech companies jumped the shark and are now just shipping prototypes not even worthy of being called betas anymore. The next step is to simply ship schematics and a box of parts, I am sure most people could whip up a better more reliable device than Samsung, Apple, Google or the rest of them these days.

I don't know. However, in all the years of buying Apple products I've have never had a problem with returning something that didn't work out. Apple is very good with returns provided it's within the time period specified. Apple's excellent customer service is one of the reasons I stay with them, or at least so far.
That has been my experience with apple as well.

Let's hope that means BeatsX are also on the way, seeing what a massive disappointment the Beats Wireless3's were sound quality wise. That's the first time I've ever taken anything back 2 hours after buying it.

I know a lot of people will bash Apple for the delay on these (it is MacRumors forums, after all), but it is better to get these right than to follow the Samsung model and rush these out to store shelves.

Then again, exploding heads does sound intriguing...

Be like the scene from Kingsman

What's funny about that? Other products in this category are more expensive

Agreed. $160.00 isn't that much at all for a set of these. There really aren't to many options for wireless earbuds on the market that are affordable. Especially coming from Apple, I was pleasantly surprised to see the price point. I was actually thinking the Airpods would be priced around $200.00-$225.00 when I first heard of them.

They may not be the most appealing looking, but I feel they will do well. The beta reviews have been very good from Tech Crunch.

Such as? The W1 chip pretty much obviates those qualities, unless you are talking about appearance, but that's pretty subjective to begin with.
Edit: Bragi. Just recently murel zero gave better quality with zero skip.

Apple knew from the start that a "late October" release was not happening at all. They couldn't afford to set a realistic date because it would have been 2+ months (!) after the iPhone 7 was released. They needed to show something that would soften the blow of removing the headphone jack, but they knew very well that it wasn't ready. The spin that Apple really cares and is making sure everything works is a lie to cover their bungled launch. There were no issues with the review units they sent out, they just weren't able to ramp up production at scale, which is all on Tim Cook, "supply chain specialist."

Interesting. Can you please provide a link or citation on how you "Knew" The Airpods were not releasing at all in October.

The Airpods may not have launched as they should have in October. But that doesn't qualify as a "Lie." So I ask you, what did Apple lie about? To my knowledge, Apple never specified the reason for the delay.

Please. Please. Please be true.

Next Friday. I called it. I thought they'd be released either tomorrow or next Friday. There's no way they'd have us wait until 2017 for these.

I would like to think these will release before Black Friday. It would be the perfect time and not overly late for shoppers ready to spend the money. I'm sure Apple's marketing team has ads/commercials ready for the release.

Still unavailable. I guess the poster on here who said they ordered them yesterday was lying which is quite sad.

I was never really thinking about getting these. The main reason is the worry that they won't stay in all that great. One thing that would get me to really consider them is if they don't have a f******* led lit up or blinking on the side of them.

Reviewers have said they actually stay in surprisingly well. You'll also be happy to know that there are no blinking LED's on the AirPods. None at all.

Question: When I traded in my IP6 I received Apple Gift Cards. I want to get two sets of AirPods but I won't be able to go to the store. Can I order these online with my gift cards and have my spouse pick them up in the store?

im currently using these (still within my 14 days, may very well return and buy again to get the holiday return policy extension) and don't find them that bad. What have been your issue with them?
The main problem right now is that the release of W1 equipped head/earphones have been too scattered. They are all expensive and it is very difficult to (at this moment) make the right choice.
