"...and they'll be included for free with the iPhone 7." Right? Right? Because they should be.

I walked around with 2 Oral-B toothbrushes hanging out of my ears, to find out the feedback.
Hence I decided this isn't for me.

Is it any funnier to see people walking around with long white wires coming out of their ears? I recall when the first white Apple earbuds became popular; it was jarring. Now, I barely notice. Society and you will eventually get used to seeing them -- and -- knowing Apple and celebrities -- it's possible that these AirPods may become a fashion accessory like Beats headphones. We'll see.

I know for a fact I saw an asian dude wearing them during the keynote. They have been ready for some time, I have to say this is to build hype on a product that didn't initially have as much as they wanted. I'm just a graduate student so I could be completely wrong about business though.

I couldn't detect if this was written in sarcasm or in earnestness. You can't expect Apple to give these away. That's quite unlikely!

I promise that they will give them for free with the iPhone probably around iPhone 10ish

Most people don't realize this but they fall because they get pulled by a wire. I have tested faulty ones (cutting the wires) and it was pretty hard to shake it out of my ears.

I don't understand all this falling out business. The regular EarPods don't fall out so why would AirPods fall out as, because, as you say, there's no weight pulling down on them.

Regular EarPods stay in my ear about 15 seconds, while sitting still at my desk. They're notorious for not fitting many people's ears, since they depend on shape and not a silicone inner ear piece.

Can you answer a call or skip a song with a tap? or do you need to use siri for everything?

It's definitely sarcastic, because there's no way Apple would do it. ....But I'm also serious, in a way, because I genuinely think AirPods should be included in the box. If you're going to remove an important feature feature from the iPhone (headphone jack), then you NEED to provide a viable alternative to the removed feature (AirPods). The Lightning headphones are NOT a viable alternative because they can only be used on one device. They're basically throwaway headphones. Airpods are the only legitimate alternative because I can use them with my iPhone, Mac, iPad, and even Android devices. In fact, the way I see it, providing Lightning headphones in the box INSTEAD of the AirPods is a giant slap to the face for consumers.

People made it seem this is the only wireless earbud out there......

True - although I think some of us watch these announcement with the assumption that the Beats X will release about the same time.

I bought a nexus 4 several years ago, which didn't come with headphones at all. I actually appreciated it, since I've never liked any OEM headphones (including airpods). Perhaps the iPhone will go in that direction.

That's not true. They work with many devices. Any iPhone, iPad, or iPod with lightning can use them.

They also could have not included any headphones in the box at all. The way they seem to be decreasing what's included with device purchases these days it wouldn't surprise me if they stop providing them in the box within the next few years.

double-tap answers a call. Pulling one out pauses. Putting it back in resumes.

Siri for everything else... thought I wish a triple tap would next-track it.

Note watch controls volume with digital crown which is pretty cool.

Hyperbolic, over the top response above aside, the lightning headphone is fine. If you were serious about headphones you would just put the dongle on your favorite set and be done with it.

I think trying them on is hardly relevant since they're the same as the pack-ins.

If only the EarPods would fit my ears in any way...
I get no isolation, no bass and have to crank them up to maximum levels to hear anything in public.
I figure the same would be true for the AirPods, which is a shame since they really look cool.

I feel your pain, but luckily I'm on the flip side to you. I've never been able to get any earbuds to stay in except the current Apple earphone design. So I know this can be a real problem.

I wonder if any third party covers that plug this particular gap for some users will appear? I know the last set of Bluetooth headphones I got came with a bag of different plug covers to aid fit (sadly none worked). Seems like a market for some niche sellers

Must've found them in between the seat cushions.
They spilled a shipping crate of them and had to sort them back out again !

On a serious note, how DO you tell them apart if you have multiple pairs that get mixed together?

Hello, I have just talked with an employee of the Conrad Online Store, since I am there on 14.10 the AirPods ordered and I wanted to cancel today. According to information from the employee, they have stockpiles from 17.11, I will then have them between November 18-19.
Let me quickly help you fix that:

I get they don’t fit well for some but for me they are fine and on reviews the air pods seem to stay in your ears a lot better than the earbuds.

Pair them and see which two start making sound :) That's about the only way!
