Do they think someone here can satisfy them?Actually (most not all) people seem to be aware of the need to buy / pay for the case, they aren’t asking for it to be free, they are demanding what they perceive to be a fair price.

Not here to defend Apple, but consider that case also holds a Li-ion battery and charging circuitry, is well designed and is not made from cheap, crappy plastic, so the price seems reasonable.LOL this is obscene. $159 for Airpods, $69 for this case, probably ~$99 for the AirPower mat whenever it's available. I mean, honestly, this is idiotic. I hope this crap backfires in the biggest way.

What does hurt is the fact the many people have only had their AirPods for a short period of time, so many are naturally upset (and rightly so) about replacing something they just got, so soon.
The miracles of wireless charging!
You need:
#1 - An AC adapter that plugs into the wall.
#2 - A Lightning power cable.
#3 - A wireless charging mat.
#4 - A charging case.
So much easier than just plugging your devices into the wall.
Or, you know, any other pair of headphones that just gets power by virtue of being plugging into something else that has power.
I got my AirPods last December. I get that they were a little tricky to get a hold of (though not really if you put in even a tiny bit of effort), but a year between isn't that outlandish. It's not like I'm that upset (or upset at all, really).
I think that until they are available walk in at a store they haven't finished rolling out the product. So while it may be true that people have had them for a year, saying it is has been year since they came out is misleading.

How come what they PERCEIVE to be a fair price, is always less then the listed price? Always.Actually (most not all) people seem to be aware of the need to buy / pay for the case, they aren’t asking for it to be free, they are demanding what they perceive to be a fair price.

Once those are set, you wouldn't do any plugging again. Unlike plugging stuffs everytime.
For those of you waiting for "True wireless charging from anywhere in your home/car", enjoy the cancer caused by living in a strong induction loop. (Hope I'm wrong though...)
or you know if you travel a lot and become tired of bringing 2x-3x iphone chargers, two lightning cables, one apple watch cable and then you arrive at the hotel in japan only to see one outlet available.
It's too bad that Apple Watch users with Link Bracelets, Milanese Loops, and similar bands can't easily use that AirPower mat. Otherwise I would get one!
You can't add those 2 numbers to gather, because Wireless charging is an additional accessory, it is like adding Airpoda to iPhone price.£69 just to get a wireless charging feature is ridiculous. That'll mean your total outlay on the AirPods would be £159 + £69 = £228. Insane! But then again, we already knew the price of the wireless charging case would be ridiculous anyways.
Airpods started shipping less than ten months agoMost everyone has been using the Airpods for over a year now and have been fine without wireless charging.
They launched Oct 2016. So 11 months Mr PedanticAirpods started shipping less than ten months ago
But no one was "using" them until less than 10 months ago. NOT "for over a year". "Almost" a year, yes. They launched Oct 2016. So 11 months Mr Pedantic
Get some earskinz. They’ll stay in then.
Planning to pickup a pair, any rumors of a new version coming out? Found some for a good price, just not sure to jump or wait for official news.
Wait if you care about wireless charging. Personally I would rather have two more months of enjoyment out of them than wireless charging.Planning to pickup a pair, any rumors of a new version coming out? Found some for a good price, just not sure to jump or wait for official news.
I’m okay without wireless charging, I would probably get a charging dock.Wait if you care about wireless charging. Personally I would rather have two more months of enjoyment out of them than wireless charging.
