$69 = £69, or £0 if I plug a cable in. No thanks, I only charge my case once a week.
Says the person with at least 5 different Apple products.
/I have a whole storage shelf full of Apple product boxes.
As dumb and anti consumer as this is. I want it just for the airpower mat to charge my AirPods, Apple Watch, and the new iPhone together. As I have wayyyy to many wires and power bricks going on.
$69 = £69 Apple exchange rate.
It would be mad if they don't offer this. What about apple's proud environmental policies??So are they going to offer a trade-in value for old cases? Or are they just destined for everyones junk drawer?
How do you get your home WiFi to work?and don't forget:
#5 An electrical outlet
#6 Utility service
#7 A house or apartment to install your outlet
#8 A job to pay for everything
#9 "Me Time"
I wish MacRumors had a filter for posts that moan about the cost. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.
Damn that is a good point... didn't think of that. I wonder if they can make it somehow work while the watch is on its side.
I think there is a good chance that I will get one of these new cases and keep the original to use as a battery back-up the way you might carry a battery pack for a smartphone.
You're correct, I mistyped that. I should have typed taxes (Apple's global tax rate is around 25%). That's part of the cost of doing business but maintaining a multinational company is expensive (but well worth the costs). It results, however, in pricing schemes that sometimes appear unfair. Sometimes they are but some of that is because of the costs of overseas business. There are zero tariffs on electronic goods from US <-> EU
It's too bad that Apple Watch users with Link Bracelets, Milanese Loops, and similar bands can't easily use that AirPower mat. Otherwise I would get one!

I don't think they're pushing wireless charging. They're including it as an option for people who want that, and they're charging extra for the accessories. Maybe that will be different for Watch and AirPods, but I'm sure the iPhone wireless charging will be a side feature that few mainstream users notice.I would hope so, but don't hold your breath. If they are pushing wireless charging tech, which it seems like they are, then it seems like the logical choice, but we all know how Apple is with their accessories.

Is this an assumption on your part, or did you read this somewhere?
Apple pricing it like wireless charging is completely new tech that came out yesterday. They really went full retard with pricing lately...
Can you charge two iPhones with charging pad?
$69? For just the case? For headphones that were already over $150?
Hey Apple, I usually don't say this, but f--- you.
Prices are going up for seemingly no good reason, Apple's ability to produce their products in sufficient quantities to limit long delivery times is decreasing (likely on purpose), and their design missteps (IMHO) and lateness to market is disappointing.
People in this thread be like, "The thing is too expensive! I'm not going to buy it!"
I'm glad y'all figured out how "buying things" works.
