My first question is, where in the FIRST place was the PowerPC version of this update ???
PowerPC Macs have by far the buggiest Leopard experience. Not only do I have the random WIFI drops on my G5 and MDD Macs, but my MDD randomly just freezes and has to be shut off while running Leopard. Never have either problem while running Tiger. In fact, I've had Tiger running for months on the same MDD Mac while Leopard freezes the machine periodically for no apparent reason.
Is Apple going to leave PowerPC Mac owners out in the cold once again ???
And before the round of boos and shouts start that I should get with the times and go out and buy a new INTEL Mac, ummm, last I checked all of my PowerPC Macs are listed as SUPPORTED MACS on the Leopard BOX!
So, YES, it IS Apple's OBLIGATION to fix these problems on older Macs.
Microsoft could easily do the BAKE SALE commercial for PowerPC Macs and it would be equally appropriate given Apple's recent decisions.
The PowerPC owners are the people who kept Apple afloat during the dark years. Steve Jobs better start remembering that. With a souring economy, Apple's recent decisions are going to come back to haunt them. Less people will be buying computers at a time when (with the Mac Mini being discontinued) Apple's computers will be twice as much money and the problems of older and even some ridiculously expensive models are STILL NOT fixed in Leopard.
