When the actual capacities get released I bet the mAh actually went down slightly. Apple always loves to say it’s the largest battery ever in an iPhone, when they can. Sounds like they made it smaller and maintained performance
That could be. Maybe they needed a little more room for another component, made the batteries a little smaller and thanks to the increased efficiency of the A17 maintained the same/similar battery life of the 14 Pro/Pro Max. Next year with the 16 Pro/Pro Max they’ll introduce stacked battery tech and we’ll see a significant improvement in battery life.

honestly im shocked on the battery life. we've been talking about the new 3nm for year and we got a 10% speed increase and no change in battery which has gotten worse the last 2 years. A bit concerning if you were thinking chip innovations were having an impact
Well, we knew this day would come when it would be increasingly difficult for Apple to squeeze out performance/efficiency out of the current technology/materials that chip manufacturers use. With the A17, it looks like that day may have come earlier than expected.

They went the performance route this cycle. On 3nm+ next year they will probably aim more for performance.

I would've liked to see a bit more battery life on the 15 Pro. When traveling it can sometimes be a bit tight if you don't top up. Don't really trust the chargers in airports anymore so need a battery pack in the bag. Fortunately for me I'm switching to the Pro Max to try out the new zoom lens so not a big deal this generation for me personally. I'm sure the 15 Pro Max will be perfect for travel compared to my 14 Pro.
I use no-data adaptors in my travel kit. They plugin in to airport chargers and give power but no data so you are not exposed to compromised outlets.

plain and simple…apple spent way too much time on the environment. This was not about watch and iPhone, it was dedicated mostly to the environment at the expense of battery life on iPhone. They should have used a separate keynote just about the environment but probably no one would have watched.

Well since it’s the lightest pro model I’d say yes they probably made the batteries size smaller.

My 11 pro weights 188 grams
The 15 pro weights 187 grams

So yeah apple reduced weight by 1 gram to claim the lightest pro ever. Lol
It being lighter is mostly due to aluminum/titanium vs stainless steel.

I’d rather they have increased the battery size and kept the weight the same as the 14’s, I thought that was the whole point of the titanium.

I wonder if this will be the year Android phones have faster chips than the iPhone since the A17 is barely improved over the A16.
