Isn't there a sort of dark souls like RPG on there? I saw a brief view of it in some websites iphone 11 preview, but I can't remember which site. All these "phone" games are useless to me, just my personal preference. But give me a good solid RPG and I'll gladly pony up for the game or maybe even a sub. Elder Scrolls was meh with too much pay to win. Give me something like Aralon.

I second that about something like Aralon. It looked like there was some type of open world game that kind of resembled Zelda Breath of the Wild but I only saw it for a brief second.

Was one these the one you were thinking of?

[doublepost=1568744141][/doublepost]Are all titles going to be available on all three platforms (iOS, tvOS & mac OS)? I'm not clear on this, and quite excited about the possibility of Oceanhorn 2 on my Mac.

Will be available on all platform but you'll need to wait for an update on said platform. macOS is middle October I believe.

It's Oceanhorn 2 that gets compared to Breath of the Wild.

This is perfect for my family - I'll instruct my two boys to simply go to the Arcade and have a party - no need to worry about ads, IAP and other garbage.
And this is where Apple is heading. Not the "I'm A Real Gamer this sucks" crowd. If only 10% of iOS users sign up for this service it will exceed any other gaming platform's launch.

As a console/PC gamer there are a few developers here that pique my interest. Probably not for a long term subscription but perhaps for the trial period or a month longer.

Whilst Apple are just making more money by solving a problem they created with a problem of a race to the bottom, I'm glad there's an outlet for developers to put games without exploitative mechanics and have a chance at making some money back.

It'll be interesting to see if making these games exclusive (I assume they won't be on other platforms) is worth it in the long run. I can't imagine the profit per game being very high and how long does the tail go.

You know what? I found the answer to this unexpectedly on Twitter. I saw a game that was being promoted on Apple Arcade also launching on Steam so I'm going to guess there are two types of deals here. Ones where they're being fronted exorbitant amounts of money to launch and be exclusive (timed?) and the other just being there on the store at launch to bolster numbers.

I get the feeling they had to do a strong recruiting drive to gather more games closer to launch to make up the numbers, resulting in non-exclusive games and ones that have already been promoted around social media.

Man I can't recall now, but the one I saw had some guys around a campfire or something like that. The website made it sound like a RPG, but I didn't see many details on it. I think I saw it through Apple News somewhere.

I'm really hoping we get some true RPG's. While I enjoyed The Elder Scrolls I was also immensely disappointed in how it felt like a phone game, and that's not even talking about the pay to win stuff.

Apple Arcade isn't launching with the more than 100 titles Apple has said are in development, but there are over 50 games to download across a wide range of categories. All of the games are listed below.

Shame on Word Laces for perpetuating the disproven math-is-hard-for-girls stereotype.

Here's a followup to my post above.

It turns out that Minimega, the company behind Word Laces, has used stereotypes repeatedly. This screenshot of one of the later puzzle levels, where a white cop is ready to arrest a criminal covered in black. It confirms for me that the company is culturally quite tone deaf. On a phone screen you can hardly see the criminal's skin color under a full-head mask; it just looks like a black man and a white cop, and the word clues are ARREST, ENFORCEMENT, and CRIMINAL.
