I love the more open criticism of Apple's shenanigans in these posts. Apple needs to be called out on their sh*t. The Magic Mouse is such a joke.

Most of them 1-2 years old devices so it absolutely makes sense why these Lightning products remain in the lineup for a little while. But the Mac accessories should have switched to USB-C years ago, and the new iMac is just a missed opportunity.

I really wanted them to release a USB C mouse with the port still at the bottom just for the hilarity that would ensue. tech blog geeks would have their heads explode lol.

Will love it when everything is USB-C, but that will still take some time.
Considering the history of connectors, and all boxes I have with various cords, I'll survive that Trackpad and Keyboard is lightening, I don’t mind at all.
For my iPhone Mini I have wireless chargers so I usually forget that it came with Lightening.

But even my old MacBook Air 2018 came equipped with only 2 USB-C. Not the speediest, not so many - thank you Joni - but yet USB-C 🥳

Future is coming, one moment at a time.

You think people don’t criticize Apple openly enough in these forums? You think they’re holding back??
Edit- oh never mind, you meant the article itself

Yah, we should hang on to outdated tech like floppy discs and DVDs.....
Jesus, PLEASE send them to me since I can't get a lot of these pictures I took from my old Sony Mavica onto anything I own.

Oh wait, you were being snarky.

well, I will continue to use my Magic Keyboard and trackpad til they won't function anymore, lightning is just fine, have a cable continually plugged into the back of my ASD that I use to backup iPhone, and charge AirPods Pro, keyboard and mouse ...

Pretty embarrassing the EU was the catalyst for Apple to switch to usb-c.

Apple has been shipping USBC since 2015 with the 12” MacBook. Surely 8 years is enough time to complete this transition.
Apple was making a killing licensing out MFI to third party accessory makers... So they had a financial incentive to keep the iPhone on lightning. The accessory market for iPad and MacBook isn't as robust so it wasn't a huge loss transitioning those over. You better believe that if it wasn't for the EU iPhone would be on lightning for many years to come.

I’ll never understand why people complain about the Magic Mouse charging. It’s certainly doesn’t look elegant but I’ve had no annoyances with it, partly because the charge lasts so long it’s never that inconvenient.

“You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a Magic Mouse on its last gasp. You flip it over and plug in a Lightning Cable.”

”What’s a Magic Mouse?“

”It’s like a mouse, but it’s magic.”

”Tell me about your Windows laptop.”

“Let me tell you about MY WINDOWS LAPTOP!!!”
