The elongated form denotes over ear not on ear looking at all the online images. I be surprise if they were on ear as you say.
I suspect these are prototypes, I doubt the finished product will resemble anything like that. I think the technology should be the most interesting factor in terms of what they implement along with the sound, but my guess the price will start near $599.00.
I just want a pair of Airpods 2 for $99. Can you make that happen Apple?

The Prosser's renderings show on-ear earcups, which in my opinion are wrong. Given the size they should be over-ear.
Personally I hope for over-ear design because I can't stand on-ear headphones.

Hopefully this isn't the final design, the headband doesn't look bad, but the ear cups look like they need some refining, though maybe its just the photo and video angle.

Yeah I'm thinking the on ear thing that Prosser mocked up is wrong and there will be ear cups for over-ear fit. These images look nice, and I imagine are a little closer to brushed aluminum.A little "cleaner" image I quickly made based on the leaked photo.

Sorry, but they can't be real, they look HORRID.
Perhaps a prototype body to do testing, and throw people who see them off the trail.
Confident anything Apple releases will look far more modern, and stylish that what's been shown here.

Over the ear is uncomfortable for people with glasses, but necessary for noise cancellation. I wonder if they’ll have an option to switch it up.
Early leaks said retro. Prossner has seen the real product, and fudge is trusted and rarely posts junk. This is real, and will be a hit.
Its reported that they will have removable cups.
So that may already have been catered for in the design thought process.

Nice work, and agreed! Waited ages for these and will be hugely disappointed if on-ear.
I think they look fine, just wish they had a headphone jack so I could use them as headphones for my Xbox.
$399 for the premium version. wouldnʻt be all that surprised if it went to $449.
in the headphone world, this would be considered mid-tier. but for consumer/ANC, iʻm guessing this is as high as apple wants to go
I can't imagine Apple using the term AirPods with headphones? Imagine a consumer getting AirPods Pro and AirPods Studio mixed up and ending up with wrong product.
If they let me choose a name, I would pick Apple Pods. Then you have AirPods and the HomePod. Dang, now the word pod seems weird
That’s definitely not the final design. I wouldn’t be surprised if they even have a slightly more round appearance for the cups. This is a lot like what the Apple Watch would’ve been envisioned before it launched, (which was totally different) this is just a rendering, that likely will not be the final product of what this looks like, I expect to have more detail in a different package.
