A range of images have today emerged from Twitter user @Jin_Store allegedly featuring iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro molds, offering a further look at what may be in the works for the 2020 iPhone lineup.

The molds are similar to those usually seen in the lead-up to the announcement of new iPhones. These physical molds are often based on leaked schematics and are produced by third party case manufacturers to develop cases for upcoming devices.

The design depicted in these images is consistent with other rumors that have have leaked from the supply chain regarding Apple's upcoming iPhone models, with iPad Pro-style flat edges that are a significant design departure from current models.

The mold images show all iPhone four sizes that rumors have indicated Apple may release in 2020: A 5.4-inch ‌iPhone 12‌, a 6.1-inch ‌iPhone 12‌, a 6.1-inch ‌iPhone 12‌ Pro, and a 6.7-inch ‌iPhone 12‌ Pro Max.

The Twitter user also posted a number of CAD renders. CAD images of unreleased iPhones shared online are usually presented as official designs leaked from production factories, but are often made by case makers themselves to predict the design of unreleased devices.

The designs closely mirror other leaks, such as those from Mac Otakara. The expected 3D camera setup, however, similar to the iPad Pro's LiDAR Scanner, does not appear to be present.

Apple is expected to begin production of its 2020 iPhone lineup next month. For more on what to expect from the 2020 ‌iPhone‌ models, be sure to see our dedicated roundup.

So the notch in the same, unless the notch is smaller and it has 120hz it won’t be a good upgrade
Yep. Completely impossible that there are any possible reasons to upgrade other than a refresh rate difference that most people can’t see and a smaller notch that most people don’t care about.

Reminds me of iphone 4

This may be the first generation that didn't have to pass the seal of approval of Jony Ive. If Jony wanted rounded edges- then that's how it was going to be- year after year after year after ...

Not saying this is a bad thing but I feel like the Apple is just recycling enclosures at this point - first it was the rounded (3G, 3Gs) enclosure then to the flat/squared enclosure (4, 5), back to rounded (6, 7, 8, X, XS) and now we arrive back to flat/squared again (12)
Well yea. They realized that the iPhone 4 design was the best of all but the technology at the time limited it so the glass couldn’t sit flush with the frame. They tried again for the 5’s and still the glass wasn’t completely flush. Little edge popped out which bothered me.
now they can do it after seeing the iPads with this design. Having the glass completely flush with the middle bar will limit breaks of the glass I’m assuming by a huge huge margin. This should be the most durable phone now also. Also my favorite design is squared so I’m not mad at it.

The 5.4” one sounds appealing, but I’m not sure I’ll want to go back to Face ID again now that I’m so happy with Touch ID on my iPhone SE 2020. I like being able to instantly unlock my phone while it’s on a table, when it’s sideways, while I’m sipping a beer or wearing a mask.

If there's still the same notch, then I AM HAPPY because the front of my current iPhone XS Max will look exactly the same to the newest iPhone. :) This is one of my favorite things about Apple actually lol. Kind of like when the Porsche 911 looks very similar to the previous gen. Keeps it relevant for much longer.

I'm the customer. Creating new designs for iPhones isn't my job.

I see a lot of people dressed as iphones for Halloween; do you just choose not to create costume for them? Or do you specialize in witches or something?

What else would there be? Seems to me the only two logical edges to a phone would be rounded or squared off. Unless you’re proposing some sort of diagonal slant?
Chamfers :)

I dress up as a "Tim Cook is out of ideas for the iPhone design". I miss Steve. iPhones been boring since the X.

I am not buying that the same thing every year smh
First off, you don't need to buy a new phone every year to begin with and second, why must you see radical visual changes in the design before you buy an upgrade? We're coming so close to an era where all smartphones are going to be pretty much indistinguishable from each other, what kind of a change is big enough for you? The only thing you really can say is the removal of the notch.
