I suspect this is the year they're gonna really try and make a dent with the Pro line-up by purposely making the non-pros obviously lackluster in comparison.
Who knows how reliable the new rumors are, but if the Pros are the only one's getting no notch + new silicon and a few more exclusive features, it might be a more decisive way to try and push people up to the more expensive options.
Was expecting only Pro models to have a change this year. Expecting a redesign for 14 Pro/Pro Max.
No thanks ? I can’t stand Google’s devotion to collecting data as a business model. Every Android owner is a product being taken advantage of. It’s quite sick. “Don’t be evil”, indeed.
Yeah, but Google is literally an advertising company.
Almost every company collects your data. What they do with it, however, is a different story.

Close all apps
Talk with someone next to your iPhone about you want to buy something you never mentioned before
Sometimes later you will see all kinds of ads in your Facebook (at least Facebook) shows ads of that kind of product
Apple needs to approve apps for them to do that

That means Apple sends data to those companies or Apple allows them to have some hidden spying stuff running and you just cannot even close it.
No, it does not happen. It has been proven many times. It’s people imagining things and not understanding that when they talk about something with someone, and someone later does a web search or visits a website corresponding to that, and that other person is a contact on Facebook, facebook takes that into account because it builds a social graph.
But the “iphone is listening to me and sending data about what i say to facebook” is a nonsense conspiracy theory.
Other things that don’t exist include ghosts, leprechauns, and, to a large extent, intelligent discourse on web forums.
It happens like 10 minutes after you mentioned it with voice, how can all you said happen in 10 minutes all the time. You can test it and then you know the truth, no need to argue with me.
It was truth that government is spying you with phone and it is not even a secret, why do you feel surprise?

The base models already feel lackluster in comparison. Yes, it’s true they have same chips, very capable camera and software, same iOS,
But they don’t have: promotion (so screen is “different”), telephoto lens, stainless steel, better colors (hello, can’t get simple black or white anymore??) as much ram, as many graphic cores (not that it matters, really).
Just the outside alone makes the base model feel “less” than the pro.
But, where Apple gets credit is that the base models are STILL premium looking and performing products, and if the pro line never existed, then they could stand alone as top of the line…. Wait, no, I just remembered the 5s with its polished beveled edges and when the SE came out they got ride of that polish, and it looked cheaper.
The 6 and 6s were horrid. They fixed it with the 7 plastic antennae lines, and then did great with the 8. The X came out then, and just was amazing.
I don’t know. Even if they try to differentiate the pro model even more they’ll still do a decent job with the base model ?♂️ I’m staring at my mini right now and always appreciate its design.
This has never happened to me ever because I don't use apps from trashy companies like Facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram or any other companies that are part of social media cesspool. I've never joined or been on any of those platforms and feel my life is much better because of it
I think for the ordinary consumer it'll come down to the most obvious visual difference, which given the rumors, seems to be the departure from the notch for the Pro models.
Apple's dedication to the notch has solidified that visual motif so hard in people that regardless of how different the internals are, I think that this will create a whole new sense of FOMO for those upgrading this year. People don't like looking at their device and knowing for a fact that it is now "old". That can be avoided with the 13 vs. 13 Pro since the front panels are near identical, but this aesthetic difference may even push those with 12's and 13's who wouldn't have upgraded to go for it.
Maybe this is the year they'll kill the number naming scheme and go with iPhone (2022) and iPhone Pro (2022). The lack of even an S-level upgrade with the base model makes me think this... though not having an annual linear increase in name may stop as many people from wanting to upgrade every year.

iPhone Twenty Four Pro Max
Right, because in the year 2032, covid mutates to infect two digit numbers, so we no longer can write it iPhone 24 Pro Max, but we can write iPhone Pro Max (2032) right?
No i was highlighting how it’s said, not so much that it will be called that in marketing materials… but have iPhone Pro Max sound far better than iPhone 24 Pro Max… that just sounds odd to me.
Same number of syllables as iphone 14 pro max.
Now, I suppose if you live, say, in germany, you save two syllables with 14 vs. 24. So maybe apple will do it for the Deutsche.
