They must have hidden the fingerprint sensor into the integrated video projector.

Muah.

Tell ya what why don't you innovate something, and when you've got 135 billion in cash come back.
Lol...I am not the one in the business of making phones or fighting to stay ahead of the Android/Samsung train. Not even Warren Buffet has that much cash. Your post is ridiculous.

Yawn. I'll be waiting at least another year to see how the iphone 6 turns out. No thanks for an iphone 5S clone of iphone 5 which is a stretched clone of the 4 and 4s.

At minimium they need to shorten the space used for the ear speaker/front camera and the home button and squeeze in a bigger screen (4.5" seems about right) and less bezzle.

If I get offered an early upgrade I might used it on an S4. Or even better but the next nexus phone unlocked and off contract.

iPhone has gotten stale since the iPhone 4.

Feel free to flame away but its the truth. It may not big as big a deal if it wasn't such a walled garden ecosystem which further reduces what you can do with the phone. Thankful for JB.

Side note, anyone who is JB should check out remote messages 2. I have nothing to do with the developer but being able to type send both iMessages and sms and mms messages to non ios users on a web browser is great! Its what iMessage for mac should be!

its the leaks parts of the iPhone5s

Damn, seriously !!

all you got for me is the home button and volume buttons , why dont we see other phone parts like we apple products

It's basically the 5 rewired.. what do you expect to see differently? lol

Though I am against censorship, I think it would be awesome if MacRumors could find a way to block all post containing the word innovation because of post like this. :)

I second that, the word is really starting to grate as is the air of entitlement from the most of the posts containing it.

Watch out, we've got a badass over here! I love seeing people like you, sounding intelligent and appearing to be making fair judgements, but in the end, you're just trying to portray someone as evil.

s/he's right tho.. the use of these cutesy names just make you look immature.. doesn't matter which side you're on... which is also another thing that's silly anyway, since these companies don't pay you to fight their battles.

to be fair, these s versions are taking the piss these days.

Pretty much all the latest batch of smart phones are kind of S versions, where do you go next? Apple, Samsung, Sony, HTC its all the same. Already more processing power than needed by all available software. Just faster and faster with more and more gimmicky features tacked on. Lets face it the innovative phase is pretty much over. Something new needs to break to push it all in a totally different direction but who knows when or where that is coming from.

I don't know what people were expecting?

Apple has made a phone that sells in droves, the iPhone 5, why would they consider changing it dramatically 1 year after?

Cos then you get the other side of the blogosphere calling them out, whinging about the lack of legacy support or whatever for the older phones...the tick-tock cycle works...Samsung have obviously noticed, hence why they copied the same method.

Besides all that, it's a home button, which might end up in the new phone, or it might not...it's not like we can see all the various elements of the phone from one tiny lil piece ;)

Don't you see it? Flex cable shape is different.

It depends... If the changes in iOS are minor ones, then there is not need for prolonged testing.
Hopefully the button lasts longer than the one on my iPhone 4.

I expect minor changes in iOS 7. Why? Because it'll be called iOS 7, not "The New iOS" or something snappier that would demonstrate a major overhaul.

Apple doesn't reinvent their OS's in one iteration. They evolve at a glacial pace like a used-car salesman trying to squeeze every penny out of each new feature. ;)

Ok, correct me if I am wrong, but don't both the big two (AT&T and Verizon) allow customers to upgrade at 20 months if they sign a new 2 year agreement? (I know Verizon does, not sure on AT&T). Meaning, you get an upgrade, you sign a new 24 month contract. Then, 20 months in, where you would still have to pay a ETF, but have "paid back" the subsidy, they say, "We will forgo the last 4 months if you upgrade today and sign a new 2 year agreement" - Basically, locking you in.

Well, could Apple, in a similar move (though not exactly the same, but go with it) move to the same thing? 10 month refresh cycles? So the 5S comes out in July 2013. Then the 6 in May 2014 (when all the Verizon and AT&T launch day iPhone 5 buyers are eligible for an upgrade, but not out of contract). It could prevent any people on the fence from itching for a new device, and have a 4 month window where their cell phone provider called weekly and emailed every other day (what happened to me on Verizon waiting for the 5) with an "Upgrade NOW to this {INSERT CURRENT TOP ANDROID PHONE HERE}"

This approach (10 month refresh cycles) fits in that scenario.

Thoughts?

True, I personally think if Apple is to stick to the S cycle, they should at least then have a new release every 9 months, not every year. This way we get a redesign every 1.5 years.

It is vain, I know, but this is the market that apple created, and now they have to follow suit and keep changing things. I always wondered why Nokia back in its day kept on releasing new phones year round, now I know.

The industry disrupting technology that AuthenTec was developing was fingerprint sensors built into touch displays.

Not sure why people keep going back to this home button idea.

You know, I've been an Apple user for 12+ years. I've just switched to Windows Mobile 8 and I'm loving it ... and having seen this post, it's really brought it home just how sad Apple sheep are ... I mean, WTF ... what sad individuals really get excited about this **** ... Boring internals to a phone that'll be no different to the last all but a few internal tweaks. Yawn yawn yawn!!!

You might like that new Galaxy S3S that was just revealed. IT CAN EVEN WATCH YOUR EYEBALLS.

Sure I will take it. After the lackluster iOS 6 update without addressing some serious flaws in iOS yet again at least Samsung is doing SOMETHING.

In any case, I don't care about samsung or HTC, Nexus is the way to go android...

Exactly. It took me a couple years, but iOS 6 finalized it for me that Apple without SJ is crap. I hope I am wrong, but since SJ I can't point to much that was well done by Apple and I can point to several big mistakes.

Finally. Some part leaks.....

Get a life mate!

I've just moved to a windows based Nokia 820 and I have to say, I love it! It's a good middle ground between IOS and Android and it also has some superb features over and above the iPhone. Apps are also a much higher standard ... Less of them yes, but much faster and nicer to use. Anyone contemplating leaving the iPhone ... as an Apple user for 12+ years, I say do it ... Apple really does have a way of tying people in to their world ... I feel like I've escaped lol ... But it's wonderful!

and the new Nokia phones are a unique design of their own which is bonus points too. If my 3GS suddenly died today, I would be looking at the Xperia or the Nokia. Curious to see about the new 5S and iPhone Mini
