yep

I was going to make the point that those that think differently are commonly referred to as "haters" or "trolls" but you have illustrated it perfectly.

Samsung is exactly the same as Apple in how they conduct their business. That is my point. They both use underhand practices and they both only care about the bottom line.

Apple is unique with their profit margins. They exploit brandtards and truly rip off the consumer. The consumer does not benefit from over priced products, unrealistic patents and legal proceedings against other companies. They are a slave to a monopoly.

welcome to corporate america buddy

If people dont like it, theres a very large door.

I agree that apple has a wonderful way of taking things that have been done before and make it simple and easy to use. And also make it very popular as well.

I was just responding to the poster that apparently thinks that if another phone were to have it, somehow it is copying apple when in fact apple is copying Motorola with a fingerprint scanner (touch id)

Actually that post contains nothing of the sort.I had to re read it to see what you were talking about.

Oh, sorry, I thought you may have been able to work out what happens next using logic.

Let's try and put in another format you may understand, a picture:

Note, this demonstrates nearly a 1000% increase in 2013 from 2012 of NFC transactions. Wait, you capitalized and underlined it. Let me!

This graph demonstrates the number of NFC TRANSACTIONS in millions of dollars.

They knew the figures for 2013 in April 2012?

Amazing.

 right back at ya! :p

Can't wait to hear the preposterous name Samsung decides to call this feature in their next smartphone...

Samsung Smart Square Finger Scanner Touch Whiz Galaxy Nebula Technology, probably.

I don't understand how people are up voting u when apple is kick of creating cheezy marketed names for their features

Until it is officially announced, we don't know for sure about the "new" features, but given the leaks and speculation, the 5S is just a faster 5 with the addition of a fingerprint scanner and possibly in a color other than black or white. Is there something else BIG that it's supposed to have that the 5 doesn't have?

If Dell, for instance, took a 2012 model Desktop PC and upped the CPU and graphics to a faster one, and added a camera card reader, and offered a couple of color options, then had a big celebration about the NEW 2013 model, wouldn't we all just yawn? Same thing. We all do the same thing now, when you buy a PC online.

That's all bigdaddy means, is that the 5S isn't technologically different than the 5 (like the 4S vs the 4), but the next number generation WILL be different and "New" (like 4 vs 5).

You forget a better processor (100% sure), better camera/flash light (80% sure), maybe more RAM etc.

No it does not.

It's what they expected back in April 2012.

It could be lower, higher or spot on with regards to 2013, but the graph doesn't demonstrate anything - it's pure speculation.

Indeed.

My original point was to counter the statement made that NFC will disappear. There is plenty of literature available online to suggest otherwise.

If you feel this way why are you on an Apple forum? I don't understand how someone can be A SLAVE to something THEY CHOOSE to buy. Is someone forcing you to buy an iPhone or Galaxy S4? Do you not have the option to not buy a phone at all?

I think your ignorance is well beyond my understanding. Especially since SLAVES had no choice or say, and you can CHOOSE to buy a phone or not.

Oyster, contact payments at mcdonalds, whsmiths... It is everywhere in London, people dont necessarily like it being integrated into newer bank cards as it's too easy to facilitate payments from stolen cards, but the Oyster card system is huge!

I'm not disputing that more places are starting to accept NFC payments.

I'm just not convinced that it has caught on to any great degree where people are really using it in a widespread way.

I know that if I asked a my friends and family if they used NFC, they probably wouldn't even know what NFC was.

A lot of people here complaining that they know everything before the Keynote (yet here you are frequenting a rumor website). A lot of people, too, are making fun of Tim Cook's "double down on secrecy" comment even though Apple is an extremely popular tech company and everyone out there are trying to uncover their secrets; it's an impossible feat. I like reading everyone's comments but I'm shaking my head at the same time at some of them...

Yahoo Finance claims people have "device exhaustion" and it spells trouble for Apple. Funny we didn't hear about this "exhaustion" when the One, Galaxy S4, Nexus 7 and Note 3 were announced.

IDK, I have to admit, this is the first time in an electronic's announcement, iPhone or not, that I'm not so interested (yes, I am posting on it now, the irony). I used to love days like today; ooo'ing and awing over the new features, conversing with friends as it's unveiled. Now, not so much.

Truthfully, if this thing did implement NFC, that would get my attention.

My excitement for Apple products is beginning to fade fast.

Easy solution: Have a look at other companies, how much THEIR products become better/more innovative/are revolutionized from every single generation to the next and then make your buying decision.

Who cares? It looks clean on the box, and can be changed in the first 23 seconds of ownership. Anyone petty enough to bitch about this has some serious problems.
I won't be surprised if they match the wallpaper colors with the 5C back color, but I don't get why they'd do the same for the 5S models? With a solid color you won't see the paralax effect they've added to iOS 7. And you'd be amazed at how many grown adults never even think to change their iPhone/iPad wallpaper. I'll be disappointed and surprised if they leave the Black & White models with plain color wallpapers.

Maybe choosing a wallpaper will be a new step in the setup process?

P.S. I wonder what the new setup screens will look like without the gray linen.

I'm pretty sure it's link bait. But I'm also pretty sure that device exhaustion wouldn't take place immediately - that it happens over time. And given the amount of new phones that have hit the market in the past few months - it's not an invalid statement to make - and why it might not have appeared earlier.

Well I read the article and it wasn't referring to a lot of phones being released in a short period of time. It was about market saturation, incremental improvements to products, etc. It may very well be true, but I just think it's telling that only around a new Apple phone launch do we hear about "device exhaustion" and how it could hurt Apple. The Note 3 just came out the other week....didn't hear any Wall Street analysts on CNBC warning that "device exhaustion" could hurt Samsung.

At this moment they do not. In 2006 not many people listened to music on their phones or had even heard of cloud computing.

Ditto. :( I want them to pull it out the bag and shows us things that haven't been rumoured, completely surprise us. It's not gonna happen though, is it?

I feel this Touch ID thing is going to be another Siri. Sounded fun - but rarely ever used here. I can't keep using "It's got a better camera" excuse either. I need more!

I say this - and I'll get caught up in the excitement tonight....
