Good point as well :)

I don't see the point of removable batteries to be honest. This isn't 2004 where a battery would only last a year with heavy use. And there are several solutions if you are in the extremely rare case where you will be without power for a long time.

I can see the point of an SD slot (kind of) but I've never run out of space on my 32gb phone since iTunes Match and Photostream were released.

Removeable batteries aren't just about being able to replace one if it dies or no longer holds a charge (although that is helpful and easy and cheap) but it's also about having the ability to carry one or more spare batteries and being able to change a dead battery with a full one in scenarios where you don't have a charger available (travel, recreation, etc).

An SD card slot is invaluable if you want to keep movies, music collections, etc., loaded locally on your device. A movie can easily take 4-8GB of space. Having a 64GB card can hold 400 of my favorite songs plus 6 full movies for travel, and not eat up any space on the internal memory.

What if they finally test out the much rumoured Haptic tech, from last year, in the new Home button so that it can be touch only and therefore much less likely to fail (like they currently do) but still provide feedback to the user?

Yes. And as I said in the post you responded to, there are already solutions for this.

THANK.YOU! I was checking and waiting everyday for Apple to release the unlocked iPhone 5, but after 5 weeks of waiting, by the time they released the unlocked version, my 4s trade-in value dropped $150, and quite frankly, I lost interest.

I hope with all major carriers onboard Apple catches up with times and releases the unlocked version in a couple weeks time or so.

i waited mine out, but it wasn't until freaking december that they dropped it!

This is exactly what I'm wondering as well. I'm also hoping that they release 1 model that can work with all the frequencies...AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. That would really change things up and maybe spur better competition and prices and features being able to go to ANY carrier at ANY time.

that would be amazing, but doubt it. what would be even more amazing, is if the release one that has the correct frequencies for LTE to work in russia...

LOL. Seriously, why in the hell is he in a Mac forum whining about the iPhone when he has everything he wants in his precious Android phone? Some people can never be happy unless they can rain on someone else's parade.

And, Mac/Apple fans never talk trash about Windows and PC's and Android, right?

The Samsung GS4 already has a chromed plastic ring around the home button. Shame Apple are copying that too.

Except the one that Apple is using is a metal ring and from what I understand it isn't there for decoration.

I'm well aware of that. I think it is perfectly fine for people to criticize features of the iPhone they don't like. What I have a problem with is people who seem to love Android and extol its superiority to the iPhone and then complain about why Apple doesn't make an Android clone. If he loves his Samsung phone why does he feel the need to whine about the iPhone when he doesn't plan to get one. Can you comprehend that?

Maybe because he would buy an iPhone if it had the features he wanted/needed. Do you know what he will and won't buy in the future? Can you comprehend that? (see what I did there?)

Ahhhhh yes it is a "Mac (only) forum" Hence MacRumors. But you are free to express yourself about other products.

Really? If it's a Mac (only) forum - then why discussion boards on iOS, iPhones, iPads, other tech, politics, etc.

It's a "Mac" website in name only. Welcome to reality.

Here is what I mean about blind fanboyism the phone hasn't even been released yet and it's revolutionary, tomorrow it doesn't work as advertised. If you can speculate so can everyone else.

Im not speculating it. I said, "IF apple calls it revolutionary". Personally i don't care what it has or doesnt have. Its the only option available to me because i have no desire to own an android device. I'm not saying one is better than the other. I personally prefer the iOS. Your original argument was about who owns what technology. I say it doesn't matter who owns what from the customer's point of view.

He named a litany of features and how happy he is with his S4. Why does he need it to be made by Apple when it costs less from Samsung? Logic...see what I did there?

I would ask why you care so much that you feel the need to "run him off" the site for having a differing opinion than yours on a forum that does not require you only use or like Apple products.

Kinda always wondered why the home button was round and not in the shape of the apple logo. I'd even pay more for the rainbow one from when I was a kid.

Dude, I'm not trying to run him off. I'm trying to understand why he needs to come here and put a damper on people's excitement by proclaiming his love for Android and the shortcomings of the iPhone. If you're happy why do you need to go mess with other people's enjoyment.

First of all THANK YOU for welcoming me to "reality" i've been trying to get here for a long time. Second iOS, iPhones, iPads and such are MAC related so we will just have to agree to disagree on the main focus of MacRumors.

"The #1 goal is to discuss Apple news and rumors."

No one is out to get you.

You don't know that. I'm not trying to be paranoid, I used to have the same opinion of this as you. However recently the dutch organisation in charge of debit card payments decided it would like to sell transaction data to commercial organisations. WTF?

I work for an organisation that does big data analysis and consulting for insurances and the like. People are currently working on combining transaction and demographic data to determine your insurance premium based on break-ins and income bracket of where you live. Somehow I don't really like that.

Would you like to base your health insurance premium based on what you buy at the grocery store? You might start to think differently about that bacon addiction...

These kinds of things are now technically possible and organisations are working on it. Ultra-customer segmentation can in many cases be beneficial to the consumer, however there are more scenario's where the organisations want to extract money from you. Think about it.

that would be cool, if we are not seeing the square because it appears as a led when pressing the button and lights up for notifications.

The square appears, but only when it is hidden by your finger? Yup. Makes sense.

Why are people so obsessed with the idea that the home button must light up somehow?

So again - not MAC specific. MAC inclusive. Thanks for proving my point.

Nonsense. But its a good movie plot. You should produce it. And then the NSA will come home to scare you... Boooooo

It's already been produced. Once Edward Snowden got famous, we started to see stories about comments he made on IRC under a pseudonym years ago when he was as unknown and unimportant as you are currently.

If there are Apple fanboys going into Android forums claiming the iPhone's superiority for no reason then yes...they are sad sad people.

Agreed. I spend no time ever in Windows, PC, or Android forums bashing their products. I really don't care for snakes either so I don't go to the snake forums and bash them. That would be sad.

So maybe when you stop being nobody to become nothing, the NSA will show your comments?

I expect my gold star sir.

As promised, here you go!

Edit: So I don't get warned again by the mods about "frivolous/off topic posts"...

The touch sensor will be a welcome addition, IMO. Is that good enough??

Before you jump into a topic read back a little further and at attention. Nobody said anything about Authentec.

Thanks for ALL that clarification.

hahaha, so when your iPhone will get a 5" full 1080p screen with NFC !! :D

Aha... EXACTLY. The "other guys" will be playing catchup now. By this time next year they'll have some crappy version of a fingerprint scanner & the only differentiation left to tout will be screen size... @ which point Apple will bring to market their larger screen iPhone.
