How would they fit a speaker in that space when the camera module is there? (And it'll be a bigger module because of the dual-camera.)

The dual camera will probably only be on the 5.5" iPhone, and I imagine this is a picture of the 4.7" iPhone. I still agree that I don't think they could fit a speaker and a camera in that tight of a spot.

Doesn't match any other rumor and I have a hard time believing 4 speakers would happen.

I still don't see how removing the headphone jack is a good idea. Apart from requiring different headphones, unless bluetooth headphones are provided, you also can't charge and listen to music at the same time.

So I presume they will reduce the battery size to fit this all in if it's real? Reduce the battery life, give it four speakers, it's a phone..... as much as I admire Apple's quad speakers, in a 4.7" device they are utterly pointless, stereo speakers yes, quad no.

So I call BS on this one.

Samsung will obviously remove the jack from S8, be rewarded by lower sales, then reintroduce it in S9 as INNOVATION. Now available in purplè gold.

If Samsung also got lower sales then they REALLY would be a total carbon copy of Apple! You made a pretty ridiculous comment there considering recent news.....

Unless the Lightning to 3.5mm adaptor that doesn't come in the box sold for $49.99 with have a lightning and 3.5mm port at the bottom. It's highly possible!

There are much better ways to go about "the future" than to drop a standard port that is near-universally used.

Totally agree with you, I seriously worry the 3.5mm decision.

Can someone post a poll on keep 3.5mm "yes" or "no" as I'm not sure how to do that, please could you post a link to new thread with the poll, thanks.

So now you have to carry an adaptor everywhere that will extend the length of your phone in your pocket? Not very innovative and a clumsy solution for something that isn't a problem.

Why is it in purple?

I don't think this photo is legit

You want Apple to remove the logo from the back? Really?

No. Not the Apple logo, but to look exactly like it does in the picture without any text. To look as slick and elegant as a MacBook

and damage the sensitive iPhone port / adapter when (very easily) knocked. Plus another annoying thing to remember, and even MORE annoying when you've forgotten the adapter.

I still do it now with the over priced 20 pin female to male lightning I HAVE 1ST HAND EXPERIENCE its cr*p.

Holy shiitake mushrooms! That awkward camera placement. Can't get it evenly placed? Those speaker holes? Can't get them smaller? That antenna band... Sheesh, Apple!

A reverse image search on Google quickly reveals the blur:

Maybe it should have remained blurred...

The Chinese source article: http://www.bjyglcwq.com/Html/?8516.html

Blurring out the case makes it seem like these were quick shots taken by a leaker, but the photos are.... artfully arranged. Like, they took their time setting up each shot for maximum aesthetic appeal. Why would they work so hard to intentionally include the case if they were just going to pixelate it?

Suspicious. Seems fake to me.

uhh, did you miss the big purple thing? The article is about the big purple thing.

There's no reason they need to use every hole in that grille, they could just use the leftmost 4 holes or however many and just drill out the rest for design symmetry.

Either way I don't think this is real, but who knows.

It's (allegedly) a prototype -- the actual phone wouldn't be purple.

I still doubt any of this is true, but according to the website it says they will make it in purple.

From a Google translation of the website: "This is stated in the video the next generation iPhone models, the brand mobile phone shell chambers designed according to the characteristics of the corresponding products, located below the camera flash, more surprising is the iPhone 7 will be the same as the iPad Pro has a 4-channel speaker output, and the color purple will increase, I believe Apple will continue to lead after another popular pink color all fashion products, but also confirms the rumors of cancellations 3.5mm headphone jack."
