I never understood how you can be locked in an ecosystem. What's so valuable that you can't leave? When I switch between ecosystems there's really nothing but apps which I don't care about losing and if I like it that much I'll just buy it again.
Imagine a house with multiple Apple TVs, Airport router/access points, a few Macs and a handful of iPhone and iPads. They are all synchronized with each other via iCloud, sharing notes, iMessage, shared calendars. ATVs are used to stream music and media from any of those devices. iTunes running on any Mac can be remotely controlled using the Remote app, ATVs are controlled using the ATV Remote app. Other Apple using members talk to each other using FaceTime. To make matters worse (or better) you add Apple Watches to complete the picture.

Now I have my new toy, the S10+ in my hand, which I absolutely love, and I try to replicate all the inter-operating things with Android, Samsung Watch, Google services, AirServer, and all the hoopla that I have to go through to access iCloud from Android, which is possible to an extent but not an easy walk in the park.

It depends how extensively you use the eco system. I wish it was as simple as switching applications.

I’m gonna keep my X till apple decides to go square again , I’m tired of the same design

Three or four lenses? Cool! I mean, you can't make a phone thick enough to hold a decent sensor chip and lens assembly, it would be as big as a DSLR. But you can make a much better picture in a thin package with multiple cameras.

However, there's such a thing as too thin. And the iPhone has been there for a while. Get rid of the idiotic camera bump, Apple. It looks ridiculous, and it's completely unnecessary. Think of the battery life if the phone was as thick as the camera bump! You could pack almost enough battery in there to make the phone last a week, AND bring back the headphone jack at the same time. Think of the courage it would show if you admit you were wrong, Apple!

Thickness isn't coming back, the heaphone jack isn't coming back, touch id isn't coming back. Maybe it takes "courage" to see that for those who are hoping, hoping.

I must be insane, but I dig it. The staggered triple lens layout looks pretty cool to me.
I like the staggered triple lens, but the big square protrusion seems stupid. It’s no longer a camera bump. The cameras all sit flush within that big square, but the big square is a ****ing tumor on the corner of the phone. At this point, just give us a bigger battery and a flat phone. Win-win.

The phone isn’t as thin as they like to pretend. The back of the phone can be a mountainous range of different thicknesses with a razor blade corner and Apple would market it as being so thin it will literally cut you, but in practice we all know the phone’s thickness should be gauged by the thickest part of the phone.

I don’t get it. What’s the big fuss about the camera hump? As soon as you put the phone in a protective case, the hump disappears. I have yet to see a phone being used without a case. Considering how fragile these things are and how expensive the repairs are, it would be crazy not to use a case anyway.

That's the problem, they're fragile so we need a case. Wouldn't it be better to have a phone resistant enough to scratches and falls to be carried without a case? Of course no camera hump on the back, just a sleek design like iPhone 5.
If people need a case what's the point in making the device thinner?

Absolutely correct! I much rather have a durable plastic back, like the 3GS, that can absorb a fall and doesn't cost a fortune to repair.

Some people don't believe in birth control too.

This ain’t it, Chief.

Looks like I’ll be holding onto my X for another year. 2020 better bring some real meat to the table, haven’t been seeing much from Apple lately and it’s really disappointing.

How can one make a determination like this without knowing the full scope of the updates?

I don’t think I like the rear camera arrangement either, but I will reserve judgment until apple launches the iPhone 11 in September.

It's funny how we will pay $1799 for a phone with a massive ****ing Swiss Cheese Mount Everest on the back just so we can take photos that are a little bit blurry on the background.

I want a subwoofer and and a gigantic battery for God's sake.

I remember a lot of people thinking "XS Max" was stupid, that no way could that be the real name, surely they wouldn't go with that...and then it happened. I won't be surprised if this design ends up being used.

I recently looked at an old iPhone 4 and I love the flush camera. I know the new thing is camera bumps, but it's sure nice not having one.
