Interesting to see how many members are more concerned about how the camera looks on the back, but it should be more about the results that this camera is able to produce that will change peoples perspective. Put me in a category that I actually want to see what this triple lens camera is able to produce, I don’t care what it looks like on the back of the phone.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s not even April. I’m sure Apple is testing different prototypes for functionality and look. I can’t imagine Apple just throwing this on an iPhone and calling it a day. But I love your point. Who cares what it looks like as long as it can take awesome pictures.

These things are getting uglier and uglier and uglier and uglier...

I'm bored, wake me up when there's at least 28 cameras arranged to the shape of 'T' (like Tim). And when the phone is no thicker than 2mm. Of course.

That is just so non-apple. But - I thought so also with the notch as well. I do not know what to think. At least center it?!

Why not finally center it more? This surely would put more weight in the particular corner? Also placing it more in the center would make it less wobbly on the table.

The S10+ alignment makes so much more sense
Or think about it the other way: If Apple is so insistent on a corner camera, then a triangular arrangement and wider camera bump means Apple could angle the bottom of the bump in a way that lets the phone rest on a flatter part to reduce wobbling. Probably not enough for if you press on one of the opposite corners, but better than letting it wobble on a rounded part.

Remember how we all would go on and on about Apple's design prowess. How their standards were so high, that even the smallest of details, like the symmetrical alignment of ports and grills mattered. Remember how we were disgusted and loved pointing our fingers at the Android phones that didn't exude these standards? We enjoyed pointing out how ugly the back of Android phones were. And now, here we are, talking about how it now doesn't matter, because we really don't look at the back of our phone anyway. God, it feels good being liberated.

I find that with your brand new car that first scratch is not only obvious, but very disconcerting. But after awhile you don’t really care anymore and it doesn’t matter. This is just human nature.

The people who are obsessed over every little tiny imperfection in their car are the ones I think have some sort of mental illness. It’s just a car.
Yes I know and totally agree. I used to be one of those. I stopped caring long ago. In fact there were some paint flaws from the factory when I picked up my new car last November and I didn’t even care. Wasn’t worth my time to complain about and bring back to fix.

Now that’s an instant trigger of trypophobia.

To me the black render with the larger bump is hideous!
There is also another render around that shows a grey iphone with a more proportioned and better positioned camera.

I hope the real thing is closer to that than this one with this huge ugly bump.

Wow...And if they keep the notch..........."2019 ugliest phone goes to........"

I think we're still just seeing R&D playing around with different configurations for a triple lens before the final design is decided.

Zero chance. We're less than 6 months to launch.

Suppliers have to line up. Foxconn needs to know what welding machines they need to use or order. Apple needs to do radio and environmental testing. FCC and CCC certifications need to be obtained.

Yep, it's all ugly until Apple does it then oh with a case you won't even notice it. Now the camera bump is a feature to many of the die hard Apple fans. If iPhones had the bump and arrangement of the S10 and the S10 had the iPhone camera bump, they would ridicule Samsung. Well they still do, saying S10 looks awful lol.

Off topic: I'd definitely bring it back for that. Vehicles often get damaged during transport and fixed before they even get to the dealer. Ports of entry have body shops on-site to fix vehicles that are damaged on the boat over here or when unloading. Same for domestically produced vehicles shipped via train or truck. You might have one of these vehicles and it's a good idea to have it checked over by a body person as they'd be able to tell if it's just flaws or a repair.

They can't because the FaceID hardware is in the centre. They'd be forced to drop the cameras down significantly from the top of the phone to clear this hardware.

Jesus, I'm more than likely done with Apple. I just can't stay loyal anymore. Airpod 2 is a joke. I was hoping for secure fit in ear buds. Nope, forget a new form factor, that most likely would have cut into the profits. The exact same device and the wireless charging case is optional. I'm just disgusted with this company and it's greed. I decided to pick up a used Galaxy S7 Edge for next to nothing. I'm interested in the S10e, but didn't want to dish out top dollar for a my first try at a Samsung phone. I'm now left wanting the S10+ or possibly the upcoming Note 10. This 3 yr old S7 Edge has been nothing but amazing. No lag or slow downs, and battery life has easily lasted a day. No burn-in on the display. All the stuff I was warned of regarding Samsung Galaxy phones don't hold water. Once again, this is a 3 yr old phone, with the original battery. It's running like a champ. Security is something I value, and secure folder is my goto now. Don't think I want to give it up.

You do realize that your complaints about Airpods 2 are completely unfounded? You're giving up on a company because they didn't personally fit their earbuds to you + they put too many cameras in their flagship phone? OK, bud.

That is one ugly phone.
Why?

It's like they are made the iPhone 11 Silicon and Leather case in advance; and they are now designing the phone against the case.

I'm not really sure I even care about camera technology anymore..it has been great ever since the Galaxy S8 series AND other flagship phones that came out at that time......but the rear camera for this year's iPhone looks a mess but may perform amazing based on the design array of the lens.

While everyone is blasting the rear design, I'm sure there are more reasons for it and it's mega protruding outline ......Hopefully for the sake of iPhone users this will justify the cost.

yeah it does but if the photos are fantastic then it will be ok...apple needs a bright sight like the pixel. that is one feature every phone needs for low light

That looks hideous. Why does Apple keep pushing the idea that the camera is the selling point of a smartphone? Have they learned nothing from the regular flip/bar phones? Camera is not a big deal once they are at a "good" point, which has been around for over a decade now.
