Looks like it's maybe designed for touch, with the way the panes slide out from the sides and the size and similarity of the controls to iOS.
Touch screen iMacs anyone?

I don't really understand the need for notification center on OS X, that's what the top right menu bar is for. I suppose it could be interesting if a Apple opens it up for developers. iStat (Menu) could look cool there.
that dock on bottom... reminds me windows 7/8...![]()
That picture is blurry as hell and shows an ugly looking dock just like iOS 7's dock. It's real people. It's real. Jony strikes again!!
Sorry, I meant control center...I'll fix that.I've been using it ever since it was launched in 10.8. It's so useful when you're using a chat program, since I autohide my dock or if I'm doing something I don't get an annoying bouncing icon or the window doesn't invade my space, I just get a pop-up in the corner that fades away.
You’d think even the least competent spy would be able to take non-blurry photos these days.
Also changes shown are disappointingly mundane: still massive drop shadows for windows. Even at this supposed stage two months ago, if real, I think people who expect a more radical change tomorrow will be disappointed.
Still Lucida Grande‽
