Looks like it's maybe designed for touch, with the way the panes slide out from the sides and the size and similarity of the controls to iOS.

Touch screen iMacs anyone?

I don't really understand the need for control center on OS X, that's what the top right menu bar is for. I suppose it could be interesting if a Apple opens it up for developers. iStat (Menu) could look cool there.

It looks like it will replace the Apple Menu. It has sleep/shut down and About this Mac...it would be symmetrical with NC but they need to rethink the placement of those buttons. On a non-touchpad Mac you'd have to click the Apple menu and then move the mouse all the way to the bottom of the screen.

I've been using it ever since it was launched in 10.8. It's so useful when you're using a chat program, since I autohide my dock or if I'm doing something I don't get an annoying bouncing icon or the window doesn't invade my space, I just get a pop-up in the corner that fades away.

I wonder what key functions in 10.9 apple can disable to force users to upgrade, due to a "security issue".

FaceTime? No it would be too obvious.
It would need to be more sneaky than that.

That picture is blurry as hell and shows an ugly looking dock just like iOS 7's dock. It's real people. It's real. Jony strikes again!!

How is it ugly? It's way better than the 3d dock.

Indeed Johnny strikes again, and thank god for that.

Sorry, I meant control center...I'll fix that.

Not a fan of the dock, or how the side panels look. Hoping that this is just a very early-on photo, if legitimate, and that some tweaking has been done.

Safari looks nice, though.

You’d think even the least competent spy would be able to take non-blurry photos these days.

Also changes shown are disappointingly mundane: still massive drop shadows for windows. Even at this supposed stage two months ago, if real, I think people who expect a more radical change tomorrow will be disappointed.

Still Lucida Grande‽

If you look you can still see the blue border around safari URL bar which is very Aqua. No doubt that will be gone by the release. Also I think the huge shadows will be too, just like the icloud web apps shadows.

I have no doubt this is real, it's just an early version of it. As long as they remove the last of the Aqua things and redo the icons I think this will be gorgeous. I'm loving all the changes so far in the photos.
