This is why I didn't buy the iPhone 4, the glass design is a massive flaw in my opinion. Hoping iPhone 5 is more durable, I have dropped my 3GS countless times and only come back with small scratches

I remember when Apple first released the 4 and they went on and on about how the glass was super strong.

Every other iPhone 4 I see has smashed/cracked glass.

I've seen one. Out of hundreds. People need to take care of their belongings. It's not a difficult concept. Other materials would dent or crack after a drop. At least this is easily replaceable, unlike previous iPhones.

I believe they were referring to the front glass, anyway.

So. you are WRONG! Not trying to antagonize, but please be civil. No need for caps at the dude.
A.) I work for Amex (and no, I'm not a CSR rep)... I know our policies for iPhones and other more expensive electronics. The requirements vary based on the item in the claim.
Replacement for damaged items typically requires the damaged item be sent back to Amex unless instructed otherwise. (Some items cannot be sent in due to size or hazard issues)
Proof of the damage is required in all cases.

B.) What caps?
Not a single word in caps in my post.

As for the reference for scamming apple, if you own a amex card you PAY for this privilege. trust me, retailers hate the amex card. and you gotta pay for it.
Another myth falsely perpetuated.
On average retailers pay the same price per card swipe as they do for a Visa or MasterCard. There's an average of +/- .01 to .02 cents difference per transaction fee.
It's only when they use a third party processor that they get "screwed" in fees. And this "screwing" is done by the third party processor, not Amex. ;)
Target and WalMart sued Visa and MC for their fee games... and won.

...and here we are, 14 months later, and people are still giving him advice on what to do and debating over AMEX fees.

The OP dropped his phone back in June... of 2010. I think it's safe to say he's probably moved on since then.

iPhone 4's are actually pretty tough. I had a fireman bring me one the other day that had been ran over by a firetruck...yes, a firetruck! The glass was shattered, but after I replaced the front screen it worked as good as new...yes, they do break, but they also can be fixed.
