I saw the $699 price and thought wow it’ll be £699 which would be welcome, but no it’s £729. It must be the first time ever the price hasn’t been like for like with the pound and dollar.
Maybe it has to do with Brexit... :D
[doublepost=1568149360][/doublepost]Anyway, I just bought a new phone, back in July, and it was not cheap, but if I have to choose I'll go for 11 Pro. I'll not spend 700 for an lcd ever.

Not only they dropped the price but also added most of the new features. I think this year it's totally the one to get the 1, instead of the Pro models.

But Apple made bold claim of the battery of the Pros damn

Possibly but more likely the weak pound. I don’t care about the screen on my phone personally and wouldn’t spend more than £700 on an iPhone as there are plenty of decent options below that.

Yeah, 3/4 more hours of battery life, that transcends to a lot in someone’s daily commute if they don’t have access to a charger. If Apple markets the new battery life properly, that’s a major selling point moving forward, given how much we rely on battery management with how power is consumed with smart phones today.

I don’t think the op knows what scam means.
Regarding the "scam" word.
I intentionally write the title as that. I just think that Apple has more profit when selling an 11 than when selling the 11 Pro. Don't know about the max, but I bet all in that you give them more money for 11 than for 11 Pro. Therefore I think you get more back when buying a new a 11 Pro.

Ummm.... considering the 11 is the successor to the XR I don't think $699 is a scam. 1 year ago the XR was introduced to the masses at $749 for 64GB model. I don't think I have seen Apple go backwards on pricing before I honestly thought before today they would have went the other way and would have priced the 11 at $799 for 64GB because of the 2nd camera.

That’s still not a scam.

I read that Apple is recouping tariff costs via cheaper RAM supplies, in other words, offsetting the tariffs by continuing to make bank on RAM upgrades to base models. This opinion is worth what you paid for it.

Not a scam though.

I'll take an iPhone 11 in green with 128GB, unless somehow I can swing a midnight green 11 pro

Also design wise. Imagine walking in the mall with your phone over the face and others see 2 cameras instead of 3 and sticking to your face a POOR sticker just like those stickers when you have Samsung and the ones with apples stick it to your face.

Is this really a thing? Do people really "brag" about an iPhone like it's a luxury item?

Interestingly enough, my colleagues in the Philippines see Apple devices as a source of wealth.

I don't see it that way, but an iPhone is super expensive in the Philippines (the actual price is the same as USD, but they don't get paid as much over there)

Teenagers sure do. And they represent a big %.

You mean, those same teenagers that carry-around cracked iPhone 6’s who brag about an iPhone? Yeah, I don’t think so. :DIt’s not like they’re toting the iPhone XS in their pockets, that would probably apply to a very _small_ minority of teenagers with some of the latest devices.

That said, in some countries, where iPhones are exorbitantly priced, it would be considered a ‘luxury good’ from their standpoint, but where an iPhone is ubiquitous in the states, so not so much here.

its 979$ Canadian which is a pass till next year. Happy with my iPhone 8. I think the love relationship with iphones is diminishing over time. Don't use my ipad pro either like I used too..

I can see that being the case in other countries. Does the Philippines have the same type of BOGO offers and monthly payments the US have? I believe in the US that's a big factor in the phone being accessible to everyone.

What's yours thoughts?

My first and ,most obvious thought is that you donʻt know what the word scam means. No, of course itʻs not a scam. All three phones will sell like hotcakes and 99% of the buyers will be thrilled.

Idk in my area I've never seen that I mean there is the usual joking about Apple vs Samsung but I've not seen anyone look down on someone for having a "cheaper" iPhone. Lots of people I know actually got the XR for various reasons while others got the XS Max. It was rare to see someone with the XS tbh.

If I was in a need, I'll go for 11 Pro. Read all thread or the title. It's not like I'm ranting all 3 models.
