iPhone 11 Although it's 699, the 11 feels like a SCAM compared with 11 Pro and Max

Hello, Dave! It's not just that lens. It's more. Read above, I've edited.
I also had to decide between v50 and G8, and the G8 was half the price. But I went for v50. I'm in another boat, but so similar to apple's.

I like the Pro and I’m prepared to buy it if there is a difference in camera quality over the 11. We just haven’t seen reviews or anything yet so I’m not sure. The Pro Max is appealing as I like bigger screen phones.

Oled, wide angle, stainless steel, better size, maybe some extra software features. Rumors are also an extra 2GB of ram. All of this for 299$ more? I'll take it any day!

Smart choice to sit back and wait. I 100% agree.

Are you sure you’re not Tim Cook trying to up-sell us all :D:)

I do think the Pro is a nice device, I’m impressed that they can put so much technology in a phone. Some of what they talk about for the Pro’s camera sounds like it can be just as good as a DSLR, which would be impressive in so many ways!

I wish! In fact I don't want to be him. That will mean no life.
As I've said, I'm with the LG V50. I can speak about it if you want.

They both have the wide angle lens. "Maybe some extra software features", not likely as it would have been a key point in the keynote. "rumors of 2gb more ram", is probably 3gb vs 4gb of RAM.

All of those things mean they are very similar phones. I also will add being able to choose 128gb on the 11 is a massive plus. 64 is laughable at this stage, and the price hike to 256 is annoying. You are really talking about $750 (128gb 11) vs $1149 (256gb pro). That is $400, aka 35% price increase

Soory, I mean telephoto.

64gb isn’t enough. If it works for you great, but I’ve been rocking 128gb since my 6S and have enough cruft that anything less would be a major headache.

My last 64gb device was an iPhone 5 (not 5S) and I spent the last year of ownership desperately trying to manage storage on it; never again.

Clearly we use our phones differently. To each their own.

I could not disagree more actually lol.

I think the 9-photo thing is exclusive to pro but average Joe might not know or and/or care on the off chance they did know

$300 more, a 43% price hike from 11, for an OLED screen (without 3D touch as well now) and a telephoto to get that ugly stove look bump to average Joe, when they already got two on the other (maybe not even knowing one is wide one is ultra wide , just that there are two and that’s fine) and a wider variety of colors- even though the pro green looks sweet, feels like an even taller order. When you factor in average Joe is probably skeptical they’ll get hosed on the upgrades next year even if they don’t cave to it , just cause technology . spending the least amount on a device that satisfies is the way to go. At a certain point a smartphone is just a smartphone to even a lot of people perpetually glued to it , assuming it meets minimum threshold of needs

I’m not saying pro doesn’t seem cool, but gotta factor in average consumer. And even not
Knowing what they’re getting into comparison wise just blindly buying the cheapest and latest I think they’re doing pretty well

The value is with the iPhone 11 starting at $699.00. The ‘Pro’ models are nice, but mainly if you want the newest camera, then that’s what you will have to opt for. The iPhone 11 received some nice updates, with the price point drop, plus a trade-in makes that phone a great value.

Lol. In 2019, 64GB is the new 16GB to some people. Hell, I can’t even fill up 32GB. I have around 20GB of that left.

128GB minimum would be nice, but I know I wouldn’t come remotely close to filling that up. Lol.

With 64 gigs of based storage and a sub 1080p display. Oh and no fast charging out of the box which is offered by Android phones costing $200

That’s a pretty extreme example...

In 99% of these Android cases, it just simply lipstick on an overall pig.
[doublepost=1568265837][/doublepost]I don't know if I will upgrade.

Want to see clear GPU benchmarking gains/results first.

Screen is irrelevant to me because OLED is eye strain city - for me. (Currently)
Have the Xr now and the screen is fine.

Would like the new cameras and extra battery life. - And processor bump.

All in all... Apple wants to split the difference with their Xr to 11 trade-in value.

$400 bones for the upgrade above....

Maybe Black Friday.

But isn't at least 8GB of that 32GB taken up by the operating system? Damn, you're frugal!

My android has like 23 GB installed. I've read somewhere that iOs is about the same size. Where did you get that 8Gb?

I didn't know you were using an Android device. System takes up 23GB of that? That must be a little more than the OS. About 8.9GB for "other apps" and a small amount of videos and images. It could also be that I'm misunderstanding you. It's late and I'm old. :p

My system usage on my iPhone Xs Max is 5.6GB. Other system data takes up 6.62 GB.

I'm connected each day to my laptop and once in a few days I move my photos and videos to my laptop where I organize, rename and save my collection.

Let me better explain how I feel.
Bought, back in july the new LG V50, at first I had an offer for 1100£, but in the end got it for 840$.
The point is that I could have bought the LG G8, which is like the 11 compared to 11 Pro, for literally half the price. But I choosed the Pro version. Therefore this is my analogy regarding this thread.
Because after you'll purchase the 11 and have it in your hands and also have the extra 299$ in your pocket, wouldn't you regret that you have the money and an inferior product?

But doesn’t this depend on how you use the phone? Are you suggesting people always buy the more expensive and capable model of whatever even if they will never use those extra features? If so, I strongly disagree. I’d rather take that extra money and put it towards something else I might want.

I find that hard to beleive. I'm pretty sure iOS is around 20GB also.
What do you mean by other system data - 6.62 GB?
Anyway, I got your point regarding the enough memory. I 100% agree with you. I already have 34GB of videos and photos since 28 july with this new phone. Also I have disabled RAW and live photos since like 6 months ago, one single raw being 50MB!

iOS system takes about 5 - 8 GB in my experience.

Some people seem to be downright offended that Apple is attempting to clearly make the lower-cost iPhone the "standard iPhone." In theory, for the past two years, there hasn't been a "standard iPhone." Now there is. It will be clearer in 2020 when the $699 phone moves to OLED.

As others said, if the screen was 1080P then it would be good deal. In this day and age of 4K screens then anything less is unacceptable. It I still wouldn’t consider it a scam. $649 would be a more accurate price for the phone.
