Updated info

Emailed Alumacase to ask a question, received a response back within 2 hours.

Unfortunately included in that response was the following:
" I had trouble with the domain and hosting servers so i just moved it to Godaddy. This process takes a fews days so i wont be able to launch tomorrow"

I agree with this statement 110%. I hate UPS and FedEx with a passion, when I bought my MBP they(UPS) charged me and extra 100$ for shipping when I already paid the eBay seller for shipping.. I was pissed. Plus their rates are ridiculous.

yup. i always avoid those crooks. it isn't an extra 100$ in shipping. it's an extra 100$ in brokerage fees (probably some duty in there as well).
 
I'm most interested to see what kind of discount they will offer us. That will be the determining factor in whether I purchase a case that I really don't need.

Yup I sure am...even though I heard from Alumacase that it won't be ready today, or tomorrow due to their server change.

That having been said, AT&T stores are blowing out alot of their cases. For 15 bucks I picked up a blue "body glove" vibe slider shell. While it's not in the same league look wise as any of these aluminum type cases, I have to say, its nice! 29.99 originally marked down to 15 bucks is a nice mark down too.

Anyone have an opinion of Godaddy and how well they work for website management? If that is where Alumacase is gonna host the website. I want to see the website, cause I didn't get to see it while it was up. Where did Alumacase go anyway, they were posting a couple times a day and since the weekend nothing. Hello, PR guy where did you go? Hello, is that crickets I hear? Who turned out the lights? Who is touching me?

Hmmm, got my curiosity piqued and my imagination running with that comment. Extreme high end huh? So, soon to be announced: the Magnesiumacase, the Titaniumacase, the Aureumacase, and the Platinumacase?

Just pondering the possibilities...
 
Any guestimates as to when you'll be ready to take and ship orders? :)

Hope you're having no problems with getting the web site up and running.

Any chance you can give our members an idea of how much the price of the case and carbon fiber backings will be? With discount? Thanks!
 
My patience is starting to run out here. Can we at least get a price of what your cases are going to cost us? That will be the deciding factor for me.
 
Hopefully it will be worth the wait. And when they do launch they have enough supply to meet the demand. If that's part of what the hold-up is I'm ok to wait a bit more.

I don't want it to turn into a situation where once I order, I'm waiting forever for delivery.

Thank you for the update. Looking forward to seeing the product. Just a couple of questions for you.
Will you be offering an apple logo cut out on any of your carbon fiber backs?
Will you be limiting quantities at launch?
Who will you be using for shipping to your good friends in Canada? :D
lastly, about your statement "our new collection of extreme high end cases" Does this refer to something we haven't seen that will sell for different price?
I'd ask about the Macrumors promo code but I'm guessing you are saving that till launch.

Depending on our launch day, I cannot guarantee quantities. We work with retailers in the US and Intl markets, so quantities acutally maybe limited online depending on sales.

Sorry Alumacase but this isn't good marketing strategy for MacRumors members to include Facebook IMHO.
