Agreed. I've been waiting for an e-mail giving me permission to give them my $$ for a month and half now.

I think this is a situation where they tried to put the site up ASAP, maybe even before they were ready. Right or wrong, I think they were just trying to please the consumer. I know people in this thread were asking daily when it would be live and when they could order. They might have bowed to the "pressure" before they were fully ready to deal with the onslaught of purchases.

In any case, I don't think waiting 2 days for shipping is the end of the world. If it becomes a situation of constant delays that is one thing, but for now I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt as well.

I know a previous poster said it was just a promise which they couldn't deliver, but I don't recall when I ordered it saying that it was shipping right away. I just remember it saying order waiting fulfillment. I could be wrong though...I went through the process pretty quickly. I'm just lucky I ordered the color I wanted. :)
 
I've been waiting for Element to allow me to place an order for 2 months and 10 days. A couple days is nothing.

Couple things: first I agree, a couple of days is not a big deal. As far as the promise goes, on their website in the FAQ it says:
A: Once we have received your online order, we immediately ship the item the same day depending on availability of the product. For US orders, it usually takes 3-5 working days for regular USPS mail. We offer expedited shipment through Fedex and UPS.

Again, not a big deal, but that pretty much tells me they're saying that it should ship almost immediately.

Again, I agree, not freaking about a delay, but can't exactly compare it to element: while their customer service has been abysmal they also aren't collecting money from anyone until their product is ready to ship. Long as it's 48 hours I won't complain about that...but if it drags on beyond that, like you said, then it'll be game on.

I gotcha. I didn't read the FAQ's, so I didn't see that at all, but if that's what it says, then I can see where it may be backing out on a promise.

And as far as Element goes, I have a friend (not on this website, but in the world) who waited almost a month for his vapor to be sent to him after he paid. And I think there were some others with the same type of experiences. I may not be too objective in the case of Element, because I had to hear from my buddy on a daily basis about how long it was taking to get to him.

If this Alumacase thing gets drawn out, I'll definitely be the first to complain to them, but like I said, for now I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Now lets see if they earn it.

My atomic billet should be here tomorrow: if I can figure out how to rig up a tripod I'll do an unboxing/review of that in the other thread tomorrow too since it should be the "newly redesigned" case.
 
so far very happy with the alumacase ordering procedure - ordered palladium silver at 4 pm, re-thought about it and wanted vampiric red, so used their online message service to change the order - 830 tonight it was changed......
 
Just got the black and silver Alumacases and here are my initial impressions. So far, both fit very nicely and I am not getting any reception issues. Although having no lock button is a little inconvenient, my index finger can still reach it. Overall, I am really impressed with the case and highly recommend it.

This is what I am really wondering about...How difficult is it to get to that sleep/wake button without the button built in to the case there?

where did you get the silver brushed metal skin for the back? looks nice!
