I found more info on the toughbook...
Magnesium, while light and readily available, is also rigid, conducts well, shields electromagnetic waves, and is recyclable. Add to that the high tensile strength and elasticity and it's clear why magnesium has become a desirable material. It's beautiful to look at and very tough.

Hmmm it seems like using magnesium would be better to use.

Awesome.

Why is it not that easy just to replace the case of any Mac and still be successful?

Do you understand anything about how things are designed? (honest question).
laptops arent just boxes with components thrown in, every little thing is taken into consideration. If you've ever taken one apart you really get a grasp of how much planning and designing go into these things, there so meticulous.

I know, I know...

You dislike me?

And I have to admit, I do not truly understand how laptops are designed most of the time but that does not make me stupid or dumb in any way.
I go by this saying: "Don't be afraid to ask dumb questions.". ;)
That is how people learn and later can do something great in their life.

heres my suggestion. Obtain an old laptop and take it apart. Just the act of doing this will answer many of your questions and give you some insight to the engineering spectacle that is a laptop.

I suggest taking apart a POS inspiron 6000:mad: (personal thing)

Exactly. People should ask more questions (but then again, I'm a journalist, so that might make my job superfluous, ha ha).

I would gladly experiment with a POS Dell. :D

To be fair, taking that utter piece of crap, did give me a greater respect for those who design computers. Id take out one screw only to find out that it held like 6 things in place, and i wouldnt get to half of them until i removed something else. Its like a big puzzle, except it doesnt bore me to death.

You don't consider this forum journalism do you?

No. Why would I? You don't think that journalists do nothing but journalism, do you? That seamen do nothing but go to sea, that mechanics do nothing but repair cars, and so on, do you?

he was saying people in everyday life should be open to asking more questions.

Yes, exactly.

To those who wonder: No, I don't do journalism in english.

Thanks to societal influence, people can be more afraid to ask questions when it could have made a difference. :(

exactly, the world would be a much better place if we asked more questions and understood the reasoning behind ppls actions.

(to be ontopic) Wooo aluminum!

he was saying people in everyday life should be open to asking more questions.

I think he was implying he might then be out of a job.I was only joking anyway-back to bronze cases!I would like to try and do a mold of a case and seeif I could get it function adequately.

And I am not afraid to. Even if it might be a "dumb" question.
More often than not, those "dumb" questions are perfectly valid – most people just hesitate to ask them.

So, should I just give up the idea of on anything recent of Macs working inside the Ti PowerBook G4 case? :D
Yes. it would be like trying to replace a floor in an apartment with the floor of another apartment, with the caveat that you weren't allowed to disassemble or break any of the planks. On second thought, that might be helluvalot easier :)

How does Aluminium compare to Polycarbonate Plastic (that current MacBook have) in your view?

I have a preferance of aluminum. Its just sexy to me. I also dont want any cracks (dent people dont even bother talking to me. As much as i hear your sooo careful i always see people posting about stupid things theyve done. I baby my stuff more than anyone I know, and frankly a teeny dent isnt going to piss me off)

Agreed.

Put an Intel processor in a 12" PowerBook G4 and make it a Hackintosh? :D
Not that I would.

It is good to have that kind of nurture, even with computers.
