I just want them released. I can't stand waiting anymore. I've needed a MBP all year, got impatient and bought a blackbook which I promptly sold (turns out a 3D Film student DOES need a real graphics card...)

I hate to sound like a moany b*tch but I'm getting proper impatient now!! Here's hoping Tuesday's the day...

i dont see the mac mini coming. Kinda defeats the point of the air....

I don't think SJ would want to make that many laptops - the beauty of the mac lineup has been not having millions of different options which get cluttered...

But a MacBook Mini and the MacBook Air I could see be two seperate things completely! MacBook Air is super thin made of aluminium etc. MacBook Mini would be more chunky, made of plastic and nowhere NEAR as expensive.

Just my 2¢...

Mac Tablet:

2GB RAM standard
11-13" Touch-screen display
Superdrive
Mac OS X
ATI Radeon 3200 IGP
160GB Hard Drive, 320GB Hard Drive option

The itablet will look like the imac minus the pedestal shrink it down to a 12" strip away the optical.

I love it... except for that ancient piece of technology sticking out the side. :D

Ok, let our "chats" continue. ;)
Why do you defend the MacBook Pro so much?
Because they are the best MacBook! :D
(And maybe slightly because I own one and have been waiting for a new refresh just like everybody else ;))

It is fine in my opinion.
If Jobs thought the CD-Rom drive was unnecessary in the MacBook Air, why would he allow it in a tablet?

Sorry to jump into y'alls "chat"

Sorry to jump in, but, I am not sure the mac tablet is the answer unless that system runs "real" OS X. I use my touch when I am out and about and it is basically my "touch-internet-email-game" device. I guess a larger screen would be nice for viewing the web, but, it would still at heart be an ipod touch (unless it runs osx). I guess what I am getting at is, the tablet could be viewed as a conflict of interest for the ipod touch.

Are there any tablets that exist with an optical? And I do not mean those convertible laptop type tablets.

MBP is not the best the best was the 12" PB

And a last note... I wonder what Steve Jobs dreams about at nights. I think he dreams about dancing unicorns.

Thank you and good night.

Good night mate.

I think Steve Jobs dreams about talking Macs that tell him what to do the next day and how to outsmart his competition.

I am sure we can be great friends as well but we got to stop arguing over the simplest things. :)

As for the Macs:
14" 16:9 Aluminium MacBook with 1366x768 resolution for $999.
16" 16:9 Aluminium MacBook Pro with 1600x900 resolution for $1799.
18" 16:9 Aluminium MacBook Pro with 1920x1080 resolution for $2599.

For the mac touch, it would be better to have a physical keyboard that can slide out from the bottom. A pure touch keyboard make it impossible to use as a regular lappy.

I also noticed some universities start to sell 2.4Ghz macbook with a low price of $999. I assume they might want to get rid of the old stock (though it is really not too old).

Agreed.

On the MacBook.
Does anyone want to see an glass trackpad on the MacBook?

I think it would look neat.

I personally like the MBP's trackpad. The last thing I need is a trackpad that gets smudgy. If they do away with the matte screens I'm going to be too busy cleaning my glossy screen to worry about a trackpad too.

This is almost as good as confirmed...

Really? Do tell.

Well written, but I think he (one man operation, I'm sure) is a space cadet. This has some of the well-established rumors mixed with his list for Santa Clause. ;) :)

I just don't see apple going to nonremovable batteries in the MB/MBP. How would we change the hdd or RAM?

I also doubt the air being that cheap, and I think if anything the Pro will go bezel-less, no a black bezel. That's MB territory.
