I worked at Apple a year ago (one of the retail stores) and my @apple.com itunes account is still active. This alone, doesn't proove anything. However, I do hope it's accurate as those new laptops look sweet. Might just have to get me a new MacBook!

This changes things

If this is legit... hmm. I was leaning towards a MBP but that MB looks much improved. I'm ready to see the numbers.

It's bull**** cause if the new consumer MacBook is aluminum (which it will be) its keyboard will be white (i.e. not backlit). The Pro MacBooks will be the only ones black keyboards.

Why are you sure it will be Al? That would be a real break from one of the core concepts of the iBook/MacBook, which have the plastic case for durability in rough environments like education.

those are some slick designs. clearly the isight and tiger desktops have already been picked up on

but if this is true, then... kudos to apple.

however, it could be a ploy... just like noone saw what the actual iPhone would look like until release.. they had different designs so no one actually knew

Why does a correct spelling of a word make you think it is fake?

I think the point was that Apple, being a US company, would spell the word with the (bastardised) American spelling, rather than the (proper :D) British spelling. However, one of the other images on the page involves welcoming the iPhone to Australia, so IF these images are true (a huge IF) then they are likely designed for the Australian store, in which case the spelling is not a problem.

The "pure power" picture with the black bezel is different from the picture of the MBP shown with the iMac and Mac Pro, etc. And by looking at the speakers and size, it's clearly not the macbook in the second picture. While I think these are just mockups, the black bezel is ugly and the one without it is nice looking in my opinion. And of course that's my opinion, because the second one is nearly identical to the mockup I keep posting here.

yea this is why i call fake

This is the sort of thing that was done in new store training. Having to make a mock product and advertise it (using iApps and .mac etc). Just to prove staff had product/application knowledge etc etc

Fake

The menu bar on the top of the pages shown does not match apple.com's bar.

I hope Macbook Design is True

I just bought a new 24 inch Imac and love it. However being a college kid laptops are almost essential. I have been looking to upgrade my old macbook pro (bought the day it came out, so about 2+ years old). It has seen better days. I no longer need as much power as the current macbook pros sport with the IMac but don't like the plastic design of the macbooks, especially since its not rare for me to drop and beat up on my mbp. Hope this pans out, an aluminum macbook would be awesome.

I can see the Macbook being like that on the picture, but no way a Macbook Pro is ugly like that. It is so clearly shopped.

btw. screw all those people who doesn't like the black keys on aluminium!

I would think that the new MBP would get the MB's magnetic latch, but if this is real, it looks like the old latch is still there.
