I said same thing until I got it and started using it. They need to do same hole on other side for summery sake. I just don't look at bottom of phone. Despite that hole really like the UAG Monarch in black on black.

State of my saddle brown leather case after 3days of usage. I was disappointed at first when I noticed all these lines across the case straight out the box but after a few coatings of coconut oil I'm starting to like the look.

Does anyone have pictures of the red leather case after being treated with coconut oil? Will that protect it? Or simply condition it?

What exactly does coconut oil do?

Someone I work with averages roughly 5-6 cases per year.
You're definitely not the only one with a case obsession. :)

I asked the same question initially but decided to give it a try. Only reason I used it was to achieve a darker shade and to reduce the number of visible lines across the case. Turned out pretty well, I tried olive oil on my other black leather case and it helped blend the scratches and even a few deeper ones too. Looks good as new now.

Hello

So is it just the standard oil in a jar or is it specifically in a small bottle of some kind?

This is what I used on my black leather case that had weird distortions. It also helped get a rid of minor scratches that appeared on the surface.

Thanks!

Well it's arrived a week earlier than I had expected!

I'm liking it so far in the 30 minutes it's been on my phone! Just got to get some sufficient coconut oil

Now me, personally, this was THE best leather case Apple EVER produced for an iPhone.

It had nice soft supple leather, covered buttons, the WHOLE phone was protected, and it actually provided the iPhone with great grip - the complete opposite of the current Apple leather cases for the iPhone 6 and above........

If Apple had made their current leather cases look like these, they would have been awesome.

You don't need anything exotic. Any standard coconut oil from the grocery store will work. Just a word of caution that a little bit goes a long way.

I overdid it with the non-liquid kind. I used it on my black and my saddle brown. The brown looked good but the black had white all over it this morning. I was very disappointed. Maybe I just used too much?

Ikr! Thanks.

Alternatively you can also just use regular olive oil if you don't have coconut oil. But yea I used bought coconut oil from bottle and the jar it makes no difference as far as I can tell.

Funnily enough we have a jar of coconut oil in our cupboard. It's the same texture/consistency as hair wax! I plan to have a go at this this evening! I'll post pictures in the morning.

After a coat (or two?) of this should I be wiping the phone after with a dry cloth? Will there be excess in the surface?

Ok so just a touch should be ok.. I'll add more than one coat over time. What did you use to apply it? Kitchen towel? Toilet tissue?

I used some soft paper towel. I'm going to use a Microfiber cloth from now on. Good luck!

Two coats applied. Did first, left it 10 minutes and applied a second. I'll give it a few days and then re-apply. Seems to darken it a touch but nothing as drastic as some pictures I've seen... it could simply be the poor lighting in my house!!

I don't think I'm quite at Blaine's level but I do have a problem!

Well on your way... it started a case at a time for me.. then multiples started showing up daily. I have a Totallee scarf on the way, one off eBay and a couple off Amazon lol. ‍♂️ Next thing you know in the middle of the night you start having case babies
