If you're unhappy tke it back, until they tell you they've had enough. Not being rude, just honest. At the end of the day it doesn;t matter how many dozen people tell you you are "anal", if it's going to be an issue, it's an issue.

Just get some other brand of phone cause i dont see a ******* problem with your phone or just live with it!

generally if you feel the need to ask...

There are manufacturing tolerances with any equipment (i.e., expecting something to be PERFECT is setting yourself up for disappointment), and Apple is no different.

I can't see the issue with your device.

Do you measure all the panel gaps on your cars, look for paint runs, imperfections, etc. and reject the car if you find any? Because pretty much every car has "faults" from the factory that was "within spec".

Same as your phone, most likely.

It's up to you, not up to us. If it doesn't measure up in your eyes, take it back until you find one good enough for you.

I can see it. I have this with my 6S Plus as well. I use to be so annoyed by it and constantly looking at white screenshots and holding it at every angle possible but then a few weeks later I just eventually forgot about it and got over it. I am extremely anal/OCD over my stuff as well, but, I've learned that time only makes it better and now I don't even think about my screen being darker in certain spots and now I can just enjoy the phone :) best of luck!

hi guys and girls,

So I currently have the iPhone 6s+. My second sealed 6s+ which I received last week in an Apple Store, because the first 6s+ which was sealed and a free upgrade from my many 6s's I got from Apple because of continuous display issues had pixel and panel quality issues.
The current 6s+ is making me crazy because I think the top right corner's backlight seems to be lower than the rest of the display.
Certain apps with coloured status bars appear to be brighter on the left hand sight and darker on the right hand side.
My parents for example don't see this. Some electronics store employees ( not Apple employees) didn't see what I mean but then later agreed that the right sight is slightly darker.
The displays backlight seems to be decentral when on maximum.

So as far as you can judge from the pics, am I to anal? Over analysing ?
This phone really bugs me, that's why I asked to return it to the store and get a refund. I ordered the se because I'm sick of the 6s display issues.

I think the pics don't show the problem properly. They were taken with an iPad Air 2 on different levels of brightness

Sorry to hear about your predicament. But it's a fact that chasing after the 'perfect' iPhone which is a mass produced, highly in demand product, is bound to create some chinks here and there.

Are you entitled to a 'perfect' phone after paying a thousand plus dollars (AUD) ? Absolutely. But we don't live in a perfect world so we make do with imperfections.

You'll notice people having issues like dust under camera/lens, poor battery (Chipgate for the uninitiated), loose headphone jacks, paint flicking off etc. So its up to you to draw the line and decide when enough is enough and ask for a replacement. Be warned though that while some people have gotten better luck with their replacements, some have gotten worse units.

Also note that the SE is also not immune to innumerable issues as the SE threads here on this site will testify. Some of them also suffer from loose home button, yellow screen etc.

So basically its a lottery.

Cheers !

If your phone has no other issues (dust under the screen, dead pixels, scratches), just keep it. The screen looks perfect to me and I would certaily be happy with it.

The respones in this thread further confirms my speculation - there isnt a single 6s screen that doesnt have a yellow band somehere on the screen. Some just dont see it and report their screen as perfect. Its funny really, every time i see someone saying their 6s screen is perfect.

I got through like a dozen of them until I got one that has yellow band on the left part of the screen instead of the upper. It makes the problem tolerable.

Your screen has a huge problem with yellowing on the top but apple wont replace it because of that because its within 'specs'. What you will do is wait a couple of weeks for the dust to appear in the upper left corner, they do exchange for that. Also no worries, the dust is also, as yellowing, a '100% of iphones' problem so it will appear. Thats how i got through a dozen of them. This one also has it.

Screens are extremely subpar this year, its sad really, that after like 20 years of lcd tehnology they are unable to ship an lcd screen in a top of the line 700 bucks phone with, lets face it, low resolution that is within 50-100K across. Unbelievable. It has something to do with blue led backlighting and yellow phosphorus coating that goes on those leds. I guess some leds get too much of it. The problem is they end up in the same screen as those with less.

Also, there will be a lot of people during your whole life telling you they just dont 'see it'. Most of the time its not that you are crazy, its that they are blind. But they are within 'specs' so you shouldn't expect anything more... Use this analogy as you see fit.

OP, I see what you're talking about, but as far as iPhone displays go...your display is not that bad. I'm going to predict you will find five times the amount of issues with the SE when compared to this one. Just take a look at all the yellow screen complaints on recent SE threads. Best of luck though!

What's really unbelievable is that you went through a dozen of them for something that most people don't see it.... Such a great passion and energy you got there. It must've been time consuming process. If only people spend same amount of it to saving earth from trash and global warming....smh. Cause in the end if no earth, no perfect iPhone...

I think it's more sad that most people don't expect a perfect phone for that price. Apple advertises with quality and the quality is bad but people ignore that and buy apples products.
I also had many iPhones~10 maybe and none was without display issues.

The store manager said that apples quality would not meet my quality standards. I'm an engineering student and I always had an eye for details. But this statement was poor.

As we used to say in the Quality Inspection field....it's a FABS item. (F*** All in a Big Ship)
and ;)

For what it's worth I do see the dark area you're talking about. I noticed it right away. It's easy to see with a plain screen. However, when you're actually using it, does it really detract that badly?

I'm not going to judge, because I can not at all stand to use an IPad Air of any generation for more than a day because something about the resolution makes text look blurry and "dotty" to me and sets off my migraine problem. I was heartbroken to have to return my first and only iPad Air for that reason. It had a beautiful bright even tinted display but my eyes couldn't tolerate how it displayed text. My full sized IPad prior to the Air did not have that effect on me.

I am stuck with the iPad mini as all subsequent IPad Airs have the same issue.

Anyway it's not that I want to be picky, but it's a case for me where the traits of the display set off a medical problem. Due to my migraines I also don't tolerate screens with a very pronounced gradient as some iPhones and iPads have had, for example shifting from a pink tint to a blue or yellow tint across the screen. It becomes very uncomfortable to read on such a screen.

The screen you're showing in your photo has a number of issues with uneven tint and lighting that might set off my migraines in use. They would not be apparent to most people and even I might not consciously notice right away but as they day progresses, my headache would set in.

Aside from the iPad Air, I've never had to return an iPad or iPhone for a flawed display. But my husband once got stuck with a series of bad iPad screens. I can't remember if it was 2 or 3 returns. It was from trying those bad screens that I learned I can't physically tolerate unevenly tinted displays.

Only you can decide what you can live with. For all I know there's a neurological reason this bothers you so much.

OP just do a quick google search for "uneven iPhone 6 screen" and you'll see your not alone and it's a widespread issue that continues to this day with the 6S and now the SE. Its just the way the LCD's are manufactured. It truly is a lottery. The majority of people don't care or don't see it but there are uniformity issues with a LOT of those displays out there. It's just the nature of the beast. I exchanged a few iPhone 6's until I got one with a mostly uniform screen but turns out it has a speck of dust in the upper left corner! Drove me nuts but I've kept it in fear of getting one with something worse like I did multiple times! So if you want to play the lottery go ahead but you might end up with something worse! I hope when they switch to AMOLED some of these manufacturing issues are solved!

If I need to spend so much taking pics of screens and going back to stores and actively trying to find flaws, then I need to question whether any product will ever be suitable.
Personally, I can say with 100% certainty that I never have to use my iPhone on a blank white screen. Therefore I never seek out a blank white screen to find a flaw in it.
In 100% of my use case, there is something on the screen while I'm using it.

So....I myself would never be bothered by any flaw that is so difficult to find that it required me to find blank white screens to be able to see it.

The store manager said that apples quality would not meet my quality standards.

I honestly think he just wanted to get rid of you.

Joking* aside, why not have a look at a S7 or similar flagship? Moving from iOS > Android isn't that hard, and you might find your ideal device.

*Erm...right....joking.
