If it's about a good screen quality then iPhones are no choice. The display problems can be found backwards to the 4/4s, Apple will not change this as long as lcd is used, because why should they invest in something when the bad quality is widely accepted?

You buy an iPhone because of iOS, not because of high quality hardware. If you want better hardware, you pay this with worse software, like android or winmobile.

There is no perfect phone and in the end, it is just a phone. If before mobile phones were standard someone would have made such a big thing out of his home landline phone, he would have been declared insane.

I paid 750€ for the phone, I earn 900€ during my internship monthly. It's not my first iPhone, had the 5s before which was flawless. I want a phone to keep for several years. That's why I bought the phone straight and didn't get it through a contract from my carrier.
If the phone has so many issues right from the beginning, it is not worth trying to keep it for a longer time. Any android device I owned before cost less and haven't any issues with the displays. You guys ignore that Apple wants us to know them for their quality products but I don't see any quality right now. You still defend where nothing to be defended exists.
When 70 to 80 million of a product is produced some are bound to have defects and it seems you won that unfortunate lottery. We have had iphones since 2010 and maybe have been lucky, but never got one with a bad screen, rattly home button or camera and never returned one for hardware issues that were due to the manufacture.

That's an issue with LCD technology. If you hate it so much buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 since it uses OLED ( they use AMOLED) displays which doesn't have a backlight but each pixel has its own light.

I really don't see why the hate...if op doesn't like the phone for whatever reason, it's his right to return.

Everyone has their own tolerance for imperfections...

Everyone is different on what is important to them and what will bug them in inconsistency or quality flaws. I'm a bit of a nut with some things and can let some others go. I can't see it from your photos. My last 3 iPhones/iPads have had minuscule flaws in them. I usually notice them in the beginning and then in a couple of weeks I don't tend to notice as much and just enjoy the device.

My most recent iPhone 6S Plus was pretty much perfect in every way. And then after about 6 months, I got a scratch on the screen. No idea how it happened as I'm super careful with my stuff. Covered it up with a screen protector and bye bye scratch (at least it's not visible to me anymore).

hi guys and girls,

So I currently have the iPhone 6s+. My second sealed 6s+ which I received last week in an Apple Store, because the first 6s+ which was sealed and a free upgrade from my many 6s's I got from Apple because of continuous display issues had pixel and panel quality issues.
The current 6s+ is making me crazy because I think the top right corner's backlight seems to be lower than the rest of the display.
Certain apps with coloured status bars appear to be brighter on the left hand sight and darker on the right hand side.
My parents for example don't see this. Some electronics store employees ( not Apple employees) didn't see what I mean but then later agreed that the right sight is slightly darker.
The displays backlight seems to be decentral when on maximum.

So as far as you can judge from the pics, am I to anal? Over analysing ?
This phone really bugs me, that's why I asked to return it to the store and get a refund. I ordered the se because I'm sick of the 6s display issues.

I think the pics don't show the problem properly. They were taken with an iPad Air 2 on different levels of brightness

Yes, the pics don't show a problem at all

One has to bear in mind that most man made items aren't 100% perfect. What is acceptable for you is up to you.

I turned my 6s plus in and received a full refund. Now waiting for the se to be delivered mid May

I have a hard time if I have to go 30 minutes without my phone.

I can't imagine going 2-3 weeks without it. o_O

I use my old Galaxy s2 now for messaging and phone calls. That's all I need and for everything else I use my air 2 at home. That's why I think the se will be sufficient for my mobile technology needs and it will allow me a clear separation between an iPad for consuming and a phone for being connected to others if needed when I'm on the go. im not going out to play games non stop or watch videos, and if I do, the time spent doing things which would work well with a big screen is not enough to justify a 5.5" display.
If I'm truly honest, even the s2 would be enough if I could get along with lags while using it.
With the refunded money I can get the se, care+ and still save about 190€, so I really hope the se'/s display hasn't any yellow spots or other bugging issues with buttons etc.

It will have. The SE screens are even worse than 5/5S... Don't want to freeze your enthusiasm, but...

I was surprised today at the Apple Store. While waiting for my 6S repair, I played around with an SE. The one I played with had a perfect screen. Just the usual loose button symptom. I'm now positive that the button looseness is just almost always on that body design.

100% agreed with you, and by the way, there is nothing wrong with expecting screen uniformity on a 750€ iPhone lastest gen, keep fighting until they get it right :). Apple is making billions and billions, building an empire on quality, craftsmanship, excellence, don't settle for any less.

I have had issues with LCD uniformity before, particularly on the iMac, and I've had to go to Apple multiple times on it until they got it right.

So, to be fair, per another post I did, I've now experienced uneven backlighting. Had to get my screen replaced because of some pixel issues or something, and I ended up noticing in normal use that the top left of my phone is a good bit brighter. It's pretty noticeable in safari and news, two apps I use a lot.

That said, I guess I'll give a little more legitimacy to this threads original post. I do find it slightly annoying and am waiting for a replacement, so I don't have to drive all the way back to the Apple Store.

Here's to hoping I don't get dust or yellow! If it's worse than my current phone, I'll just keep mine and deal with it.

I've seen some issues with 6s displays more so than previous generations. I think the 6/Plus were some of the most consistent ones. But OP's screen is really not bad, at least in the pics.

Yes to anal.

Is that just in general or in relation to the thread :D

You might be being a bit OCD about it, but if it bothers you so much, get it replaced. Just be aware there's a half decent chance the next one will have issues too.

It's not that uncommon in LCD screens, especially IPS ones. Heck I paid many, many times more than an iPhone costs for my LED backlight LCD TV and it's got significantly worse backlight uniformity than any iPhone or iPad I've ever owned.

So long as there is more than one light source providing the backlighting It's never going to be 100% perfect. I've not bothered checking for the 6s, but as all, up to and including the iPhone 6/+ use a single LED strip with up to 8 LEDs on it, spaced across the width of the screen and then spread across the remainder of the screen using a diffuser, I'd guess the 6s will be the same. You can see how easy it is for there to be small areas of the screen which are not as bright, or which appear brighter than the rest of it.

Unless there was a single massive LED the same size as the screen providing the light, or the screen itself generated its own light, as with OLED, backlight uniformity issues are all too easy to come across.

Best thing to do is get one you don't notice it much on and don't go looking for problems with it, because that's when you'll find them.
I used to hate my days working as an engineer on Panasonic plasma displays, I'd notice every little problem with any screen from any manufacturer.

I could go into anyone's house or any store and see a problem with every screen on any device I looked at. I ended up having to buy a Pioneer Kuro because it had the least issues of any consumer screen at the time. Took several years for me to un-train my eyes from looking for problems and even now I still notice more than I'd like but I've just got to live with it because that's the limits of the technology...... At least until I buy my OLED TV, then I'll find some all new issue with that :D
