The Dynamic Perspective looked amazing to me, I don't understand all the negative comments on here. I think Apple may well be worried by this.
Does it still not have the Google Play Store? If not then I believe it's still a glaring issue.

It's ugly. What's with all the circles in the corners? Are they supposed to be cameras? Yuck.

Edit: Just my first impression earlier before I read the full article. Technology sounds interesting but seems gimmicky and a battery killer. Everyone can stop with their annoying "did you read the article?" posts now.

ATT exclusive is OK for me.
Features are OK for me.

Pricing without any new benefits... extra data... free streaming...

This is going to fail.

WHY?
Have you heard about "cloud" computing???? Why would I need a 56 GB phone when I can have a 100GB cloud service? Every user is different, and I listen to raw audio, so I HAVE to go to the cloud in order to get what I want. If your an MP3 fan, 16 GB's can supply MORE than you can listen to on a commute.

I guess that's why people don't care about data caps, or are fine with not having unlimited data!

With the IR cameras and one button purchase you might end up ordering things in your pocket or purse several times a day.

"Why did I just get a shipment of 27 packages of gum from Amazon?" :D

Maybe you should refrain from commenting until you've actually read the summary. They are cameras used for head tracking for the "dynamic perspective" feature.

Good luck accessing the cloud in another country, in a plane, out to sea, nowhere in a forrest or in the summer cottage. I prefer to have my stuff available 24/7.

Scathing comments on other forums from pro-Android, pro-Amazon folks. This phone is DEAD on arrival and it is all due to price and having only one carrier. Unlike their Fire tablets which compete on price, this phone essentially has priced itself identically to top tier smartphones from Apple, Samsung, and others. It starts at $199 with a 2 year contract on only a single carrier, or $650 unlocked but still restricted to only AT&T for service. For this you are getting an Amazon only ecosystem phone, no Google Play Store (Amazon's selection is far more limited), a gimmicky parallax feature and "Firefly" which is nothing more than another way to get you to spend every one of your dollars with Amazon (and Firefly like features are available through apps on every other platform).

If you look at Amazon tablets they sell to folks who want a "good" tablet but don't want to spring for an iPad. Had this phone been free on contract or $250 for an unlocked version... all on any major provider you would have a compelling alternative to Apple, Samsung etc. but instead Amazon hopes you don't notice the lack of apps, real world polish with calendar, contacts, messaging etc. when you are blinded by the "cool" effect of parallax tracked to your face.

This phone is DOA. It won't exist in this pricing or form in 12 months (I like Amazon, spend more money with Amazon than with any other business in my life and am a long time Prime subscriber.)

cuz accessing those files after you reach your mobile data caps with 64kb/s for the remainder of the month is kind of a pain in the ass

Because it is an Apple forum. Kids get bullied in school too when they are smarter - just the nature of the beast :p

External USB drive ... Oh wait, that is Android only :p
Or 128GB SSD card .. Oh wait, that isn't Apple either :)

I was hoping it would be available on Verizon so I could try it out!!:( Sounds like an exciting phone with some great features. I used to be annoyed at Apple competition, but I am telling you some very interesting things arrive because of it!!

As I said when the rumours started, what I am interested in is a phone with stereo camera and auto stereoscopic display.

Like the Fujifilm 3D digicams, but in a phone.

And new 3D digicams from Fujifilm would also be welcome.

Because until the cost of data is cheap or free, then you can't really rely on the cloud for everything as your data bill will be astronomic.

Meh...

This will do as well as their FireTabs did…Not so much.

Should just be be called what it is: Amazon Purchase Order Phone. APOP.
