Not too much or Cupertino will need to get the legal department ready.Cupertino, get your photocopiers ready.
Obviously this is a ploy to get prime users hooked on the service and hike up the price later, just like they did for prime music and prime video.monthly
Alexa+ = $19.99/mo
Amazon Prime = $14.99/mo
1 year
Alexa+ = $239.88/year (paid monthly)
Amazon Prime = $139/year (paid 1 year up front)
😂
Wow, good catch. This probably means that they'll eventually charge Prime members extra for it - get 'em hooked on the drug - or Prime membership is going to get more expensive soon.monthly

Really ? You asked everyone? That must have taken awhile. Get some restExactly what no one wanted.
I think this is the beginning of the end for Apple. They are just too far behind. All it took was a couple of years for Apple to destroy giants like Nokia who just didn’t see it coming. Seems like this might be the same case
I can see family battles over that:If a user says "I'm cold" or "it's too bright," Alexa will know to adjust the temperature or dim the lights without being asked.
You won't have to ask it to do that--it'll do it anywayAlexa, please track and monetize my life even more than before...![]()
I guess we still sometimes need to use exactly the right magic words to get our devices to do the right thing. In the Harry Potter world, you even have to pronounce your incantations exactly right or else who knows what you'll get. Arthur C. Clarke said “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic", but I wonder if he was considering the need for proper pronunciation, word choice, and sentence structure to achieve that magic, something that a decent AI is supposed to not need.I just want Alexa to get smarter about my music preferences and what I have asked for previously so I don't have to argue with her every time I want to play a song.

Funny, that’s like what Nokia said.AI and voice assistants won't have anything to do with a Apple succeeding or failing.
Households with an Echo Show 8, 10, 15, or 21 will be the first to get early access to Alexa+.
I only use mine to turn lights on and off, and other smart stuff, maybe ask the odd question and listen to music or radio, I don't really want a conversation with a machineOh goodie, more crap I won't use. I don't use Alexa barely for anything so it might be time to toss em out.
I expect at some point it will be available on all Echo devices, I suppose it is just like a soft launch to test. Also, will be available in other countries. Not that I am in any rush,Will Alexa+ eventually be available on all devices with Alexa, or is it going to be exclusive to certain devices/models?
Funny, that’s like what Nokia said.
I think's there is a good chance that it will cost extra down the line even for Prime members, but another possibility will be that they will differentiate Alexa+ into tiers and you can upgrade to a higher tier that does more, similar to how Apple Intelligence is free using ChatGPT at one level but some features require a paid subscription. When I first heard rumors about this new Alexa, I was concerned that we would all have to pay to get access. My cynical side thought the Amazon would make the current Alexa worse in order to incentivize users to pay for a better Alexa. I am somewhat relieved that Alexa+ is free for us Prime subscribers. (But my cynical side just thought Amazon might start charging Prime subscribers in the future, similar to how we now have to pay extra for ad-free Prime Video.)
