I love amazon products. I currently have the following:
Echo Plus 2nd Generation (charcoal)
2 Echo dots 3rd Generation (1 sandstone, 1 plum)
3 Echo Studio
4 Echo Flex with smart Nightlight (in bathroom)

I decided to start trying Amazon products after I invested into a Prime account. Really wanted to see what Amazon's ecosystem offered. I've been invested about a little over a year now, and have been happy for the most part. Will keep my eye on this one, just to see where it goes, even though I don't need anymore right now, could make for a nice upgrade in the future.
Awesome, so your house is fully bugged.

Anyone else feel Apple is really falling behind with new stuff...

Not really, most of this is just adding features and randomly changing designs to existing products, in markets that Apple would have no interest in.

Amazon are literally just throwing stuff out into the market to see what works, will be interesting to see how many of these products still exist in a few years.

Who tf wants a flying camera in their house?? I don't even understand what the purpose is...

aehm, what is the purpose of a Camera usually nowadays. Selfies or surveillance - both can be achieved with this little friend.
Make snaps of kids birthday’s or roam your home while you are away watching every corner.

The Ring car can has a feature that records when you say "Alexa, I'm being pulled over". Sad times that it is needed or felt like it is needed.

Perhaps someone who wants to check that their robot vacuum is actually working! Lol.

Everything Amazon does, they do well, except probably the Fire tablets.
Home security _really_ sucked until Ring stepped in. (I know Amazon acquired Ring rather than starting it, but still.) Now they're going to fix car security. Car alarms are worse than useless in their current state.

All I need is a drone asking me if my wife and I are an effective team...

Your entire post just proves my point. If there's no benefit to Apple users here then I don't see the point of MR posting news about Amazon's products. If I want non-Apple product info I can go to CNET or The Verge. If there was a relationship between Apple and these Amazon products then I would be interested. Otherwise I see news articles like this posted here as just another slam against Apple and to give certain members here more ammunition to trash Apple as this forum wholeheartedly enjoys doing even if Apple doesn't deserve it.
Apple and Amazon are both competitors and cooperators. I.e. you can use Amazon's products with your iPhone. Pretty relevant.

I think that's pretty competitive. Black Vue is $500 if I recall correctly.

All Tesla vehicles come with security/dashcams built in, though... I can't imagine there's much market for people who are savvy enough to want a car camera but then don't already want (or have) a Tesla for other reasons.
Most people don't have Teslas, and most people are also worried about car break-ins.

Amazon is titan. It will be interesting to see how in the world they actually fail as a company. They are so efficient, lean and mean at what they do and have every market cornered.. Has the corporate world ever seen such a juggernaut?

New Alexa = Looks like they stuck an iPad mini on a HomePod.
Yes, they got into the top few by becoming unquestionably dominant in both retail and cloud computing. That's insane. Well, they've got a driven founder CEO, while Goog and Aapl have caretaker CEOs. And their rally started later than Apple's and Google's. Musk's companies too. Bezos and Musk now occupy the tier that Jobs used to.

Bezos also owns a large chunk of Washington Post, which despite being technically separate from Amazon is clearly connected to them. And somehow they've become a mainstream news source. It's kinda scary.

While I completely agree with you, I want this to follow my dog around so that when he sneaks into the a random room upstairs and starts eating the furniture, I can be notified.
We must have similar trust issues with our dogs because that was my first thought too 🤣

So this gaming service is going to run in the browser. I’m not sure if Apple can do anything about it but might test the validity of their reasons for not allowing xCloud and Stadia in the App Store.
What do you mean "do something about it"? Apple has continuously said that web apps in the browser are an option if you don't want to be in the app store, that is not something they oppose.

oddly enough a ring camera such as the drone thing may lower your home insurance.

hmm. It didn’t work for Tom Sellect in Runaway against Gene Simmons drone ;)

I highly doubt this drone will help lower home insurance that much vs an indoor camera security system.

Here's a scenario that Amazon apparently envisioned. Version 2 will have a minigun and a booming voice saying "you have 20 seconds to comply" when confronting the burglar.

Love it!

but more closer to another 80’s hit movie called “Runaway” it’s drone helped criminals and even had smoke screen built in!

you guys gotta see this ol school movie.
Tom Selleck
Gene Simmons
Heather Locklear

drones run amok ;)

wow these are almost finally here.

Oh no, we should never ever see non-Apple products around here, because that would be heresy, and then people will say bad things about the beloved company! /s

People will rip Apple even for Apple products that aren’t to their liking. Not sure why seeing cool stuff that is off-brand is so scary... Frankly, I don’t want Apple to make every single thing in the world. They aren’t necessarily going to be the best TV, or car, or toaster. I love them anyway.

So this drone... flies around your home... And spies on you. Everywhere.

Eating dinner? Bzzzzzz.
Bathroom? BzzBye...
Bedroom...bzzZZZZZZHAIR

The car cam is great; but that cat toy - I mean drone, is fascinating in a bad way.

So what is different about this than xCloud or Stadia other than it runs in a browser? Isn’t the functionality essentially the same? So Apple doesn’t need to review every game or take 30% of subs if you’re accessing it via Safari and not a Luna Cloud iOS app? And all the concerns about privacy and safety no longer exist?

You make a good point - my understanding is the main difference is that a Web app is essentially sandboxed, it doesn't have hardware or software access to the device or its operating system, at least not to the same level as an app.

The other issue is how could Apple define something running in a browser being against its terms of service, and how to enforce it?
