I'm sure they do. However, they continue to sell products which compete with their own brands (Sam's Choice, Great Value, Equate, Mainstays, etc.). This is to be expected because they are a megamart, not a boutique like Apple.
Another Pom Pom waver.Pot meet kettle.
I shall write back to say that Apple clearly has never shown any willingness to put its video services on any platform other than Apple hardware. Which is fine, Apple is a hardware company that uses services and software to sell its high-margin hardware. But it indicates to me that the absence of iTunes video on Roku is Apple's decision, not Roku's. Roku even has Google Play, a provider I failed to originally mention, and this despite the fact that Roku does not run a Google-backed OS (Android or Chrome OS). So when you have a hardware maker that offers no streaming service of its own and has EVERYONE except Apple on board, yeah, I'm calling that agnostic. I would bet that Roku would be delighted to offer apps for iTunes and Apple Music but that will never happen because Roku is a major competitor that outsells the Apple TV.
Source?I'm certain they would like to, but Apple doesn't let them.

Again, you mean like Bose products in Apple retail stores?Bad example. We're talking about removing a product that was actually being sold through a retail environment. Thanks for that farfetched example though. Needed a good laugh.![]()
This is abusive. Amazon will lose a lot of very loyal Apple customers as a result of this. I know I'll never buy another thing from Amazon now they've decided to try and hurt sales of the Apple TV. I hope hundreds of millions of other people take a similar stand.
Time for apple to remove the amazon apps from the iphone
Let Amazon themselves sell whatever they want. But for all the crap already in the Marketplace, Amazon's stated prohibition of Apple TV & Chromecast through those vendors just feels anticompetitive.cant blame em...does apple sell androids?
I like these threads, brings the ignore material to the front.hey kettle, I'd like you to meet pot. You have so much in common.
Don't bother with a reply, ignored.
Yes, I do it all the time! Apple TV and my iPad is all I need to watch most anything. Can't you just use the Amazon App on the iPad and then just airplay to Apple TV?
I'm guessing you're just being willfully obtuse but Apple physical stores have limited space. Of course they're going to give their own products shelf space over the competiton. And now they've added another laptop, Watch and iPad Pro. They can't just magically increase physical retail space. Amazon was selling other people's stuff in their online store way before they ever started competing with them. Apple stores are for the express purpose of showcasing Apple products. Apple wouldn't have to offer any third party stuff in their physical stores if they didn't want to. They're not a general purpose retailer.Another Pom Pom waver.
Support Amazon completely. Love my apple products, but they would go before I cease using Amazon Prime. I am sure Apple is blocking Amazon video because they want a cut and Amazon balked. Really irrelevant since both Fire and Apple TV can't compete with Roku.
I don't think it is a matter of Amazon not wanting to make an App for the AppleTV. It is Apple not allowing them to publish it. Apple sees Amazon as a direct competitor to iTunes... and they are.
This is exactly the reason. It's a shame so many Apple fanboys don't take thirty seconds to open a new tab and do a google search.
Based on what exactly? Did Amazon say Apple is refusing to accept an Amazon app for the new TV?This exactly. From the article, it doesn't sound like Amazon's being the exclusive one here. It sounds like Google and Apple are. This has been one of my biggest disappointments with Apple. I wish they would allow Amazon and Vudu and other services on their boxes. I'd be more likely to use it then. Until then, I stick with Roku and Tivo.
Yep, I have never bought an apple product direct from Apple. I don't see paying extra when you get the same warranty.Just curious why not? I just checked Apple.com for this Macbook (screenshot) and it is $100 less from Amazon and would be delivered one day sooner from Amazon. Plus I get 3% cash back on my Amazon (Chase) VISA card for all Amazon purchases. So that gets me my new MacBook one day sooner and saves me just over $150. I'm not seeing a downside?
Amazon of course does not offer BTO options, but for a stock model Amazon makes sense to me. To be fair, I have Amazon Prime so I get free two day shipping.

Stand by for the onslaught of applebot attacks. I can hear the "your base are belong to us" already. For those saying "why can't they simply just make an Amazon prime app for Apple TV?"
Because Apple won't let them, same reason they don't allow Vudu/ultra violet to make an app
So why should Amazon sell it? Apple does the exact same thing
