Why a 3D phone when they can just implant Sims card in your head, Amazon is really behind. I want cell phones implanted where I can just use my eyes and hand gestures.

Looks like they've got the iPhone form-factor down, so that's working for them.

It looks nothing like an iPhone. Just having a screen on it means someone here at MR will say it is an iPhone clone . It looks more like a Lumia than anything else.

Well 3D is unoriginal not many people even have 3D TVs in their homes so why would anyone want a 3D phone? 3D on a small screen I just do not get it sorry and looking at the image it looks really dark I wonder how much brightness it gets.


The only time I see a 3D TV selling once it looses those silly glasses but that sort of TV will not exist for another 4 to 5 years (was suppose to out few years ago never happened).

Don't underestimate Amazon

Amazon has had significant market share in the tablet market.

The FireTV is getting great reviews and is a much better device than Apple TV

Apple can only wish they replicate Amazon's kindle ebook store success.

So... don't write Amazon off yet, you haven't seen the device yet.

3D is going to be the next big thing. Pretty soon all TVs, Movies, and Games consoles will be 3D, and everyone will want that experience on their phones as well.

Apple and Samsung will be scrambling to catch up!!!

This comment is hilarious. Without even commenting on how this phone is gonna do,

1) The 3D TV fad was such a miserable failure, that the only major network pushing it (ESPN 3D) shut their service down, and there were almost no 3D TVs to be seen this year's CES, after there only being 3D TVs on floor last year. Even the manufacturers of 3D TVs have given up on pushing it down our throats.
2) The Nintendo 3DS's 3D features are barely used. Games which are 3D only, rarely do well.
3) The minor bit of 3D Apple added (through its parallax features) led to a bunch of complaints.

3D may be the future, but prior experience doesn't indicate that at all, and screenshots of an Amazon phone which supposedly has 3D is not doing much to convince me that will change anytime soon.

3D ain't so bad...

I for one love 3D technology and would love a 3D phone - done right. It will probably be apple that does it right, like in 2020. When the screens get to a point where: 1) you don't need those stinkin' glasses 2) 3D doesn't look like that crappy toy the nintendo 3DS (i.e. bad 3D) but more like the crisp 3D of wearing the glasses in the theatre.

I know a small smartphone is not 'immersive' enough to make 3D useful, but I think its cool and should be an option on a very future iphone line-up:
