King Ezekiel coming in the new season! I've not read the comics so this sounds interesting.

About a month to go. Feels like eons have passed since the end of the last season.

have any of you, seen the new images for season 7 on facebook? all of them are at a full body pose except for daryal, he is in a close up, that could be a clue, he is the one that dies.

Doubt it. The show runners don't have the balls to kill off the really popular characters. Glenn was never beloved, and has gotten pretty stale. Norman, Andrew, Melissa and Danai have jobs for as long as they want them.

A good twist is if they kill off Maggie and Glenn!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

My completely wild-ass guess is that two things will move the story this season.

- Negan will figure that controlling Rick is the key to controlling the group. He will try to "break" Rick by killing someone who Rick cares about enough (Glenn) to matter, but will also "nurture" Ricks's kids; with the subtle, unstated threat that Negan can hurt the kids if Rick gets out of line. And Rick will be reluctantly co-opted.

- At the same time, Maggie will quietly seethe and plot revenge for Glenn's murder. At some point, there will be a reveal and she will catalyze the inevitable revolt. Maggie is the best character for this role, because a. she will undergo a huge, brutal loss, and b. unlike Glenn (if Maggie were killed), she's better able to hide her emotions and work toward revenge.
Carole, of course, will be Maggie's first, secret, ally.

Only the first part of that resonates with the original story from the comic books.

The next four story arcs are called "What Comes After" and"March to War" and "All Out War" (double) and I hope they at least stick to those themes. They seem to average 2-3 comic arcs per season so it depends where they want to stick the break.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. The whole killing off Glen dumpster thing was a huge deal to TWD fans. If Glenn wasn't "beloved" then we wouldn't have had that reaction from the masses.

I think you are spot on here.

With the way they ended last season and the build up we have now I don't think anyone is going to be able to "hide their emotions". That's the whole point, the group as a whole is going to be broken by what happens.

I don't think it'll be Glenn just based on the dumpster fiasco, or Maggie due to her role in the comics. It's gotta be Abraham.

Remember when negan is using the bat and says: "you are taking it like a stud" the only 3 people to withstand that abuse would be rick, daryl or abraham cause they are the strong characters...thoughts?

So me and the wife were talking and she came up with a pretty good theory. After we watched Geeking Out's season finale with Greg Nicatero. Greg mentions that it is deep and dark and there is a very draining issue that happens at the end of the show that might put you over the edge. Or something along those lines.

So, she mentioned the following. Glenn gets it like in the books, but during some point of the show, Maggie will lose the baby. That would be the two deaths of the show that have been hinted at. Just a theory, but after she said it, it made sense and I could see them doing something along this line since they already have one baby on the show.

Hate to burst your bubble! That line is straight from the book and we all know who got it there.

I'm actually dreading this episode, because I'm going to be upset and miss whoever that bastard chooses. I always thought from his perspective it would be better to pick one of the men, possibly eliminating someone who he thought could challenge him in the future. Using this rational, Rick would be the primary candidate, but I might fall over in shock if it actually turns out that way. :(

I am dreading the episode due to the graphic violence. I don't believe it's necessary. It won't matter who it is. We're losing someone the worst way possible.

The dynamic of the show is changing, and I don't know if I like where it's going. I'm good with man against walkers, but not so good with man against man.

While I understand to some degree what you are saying about the dynamic, the man vs. man dynamic is really the more important one in an "aftermath" scenario like the zombie one. As Fear The Walking Dead shows, it's basically the living, through their fear/mistrust/etc., that mostly end up creating things the way that they end up being (vs. being able to trust and cooperate on a large scale to deal with it all in a much better way).

Yes, I was going to post the same. It's more raw in Fear than in TWD, but it's always been about the people. The zombies are just wallpaper/background noise.

The wars against Woodbury, the Saviors and Whisperers from the comics are just larger scale than in Fear as the communities have had time to coalesce to a larger more stable state.

I don't feel like there's much of a change taking place. The dynamic of "man against man" has always been a part of the show and, in truth, has been the more difficult dynamic. Walkers are a one dimensional force and thus dealing with them is fairly straightforward. Other survivors are still moral agents and therefore both unpredictable and dangerous.

You are overthinking it ...When you hear the word zombies in a movie, you know there will be violence. thats part of the show. the dynamic isnt changing. this show is like a soap opera with zombies. and when survival is put in the mix, man vs. man will always come out. its a bad spot for rick and his crew, he has to be smart and go all out on this one, they must survive. plus this isnt his first rodeo with another hostile gang. the bad part is that someone will die.

Graphic violence has been part and parcel of this story. The comic is much worse, btw. Shoving knives into the eyes and ears of zombies is pretty routine. I get it, they are not living people, but the imagery is still there. I think what is upsetting you might be the anticipated cruelty of watching a character you like having their skull crushed, being beaten to death with a barb wire wrapped baseball bat. My guess, hope is it won't be as gruesome as the book. What will be a real gotcha, if he decides not to kill anyone. The show has a habit of toying with readers of the comic. I said it first. :p

My fear is that we will have to watch this same behavior multiple times during the season.

My guess is you won't, although my memory is shakey, this seemed like a pivotal event in the book. I don't remember this kind of thing as a regular event. If you remember back at the prison who The Governor killed. It's happened before, but I don't remember the Hershel death happening like that in the book.

I almost stopped watching when the governor was a major character. But Negan is twice as crazy and sadistic.
