Lee, I can't see Idol tonight...night shift.

But who was in the bottom three? My guess from post, Mike, Andrew, and either Tim, Sibohan, Aaron, or Katie, right? Casey has to be safe.

I can't see Lee or Crystal getting the boot. No way.

Mike, Andrew and Aaron.

last night episode ticked me off.

ryan said in the beginning..shocking results tonight...ok..thanks ryan

and then..what do we find out...mike was saved..

only leads me to think the judges knew mike was in the bottom and knew they would save him.

also, if you watched when mike was singing...they kept showing his wife over and over again...no one else's family was shown as much as she when the singer was about to get voted off.

the judges knew before hand they would save him and that sort of ticks me off. if they know the results beforehand, who else would know?

and jason derulo..wow he was bad...certain words i couldnt even hear him sing...but according to the judges..he got it.. i just dont get it.

No- I guess you don't. ;)

I wish that Tim wasnt so good looking, or had a great personality, because he should be gone already. He deserved to be sent home before Mike, even if he did give his best performance last night. He is not on the same level as some Mike, Aaron, Siobhan, and nowhere near the level of Casey, Lee, and Crystal.

try telling that to the hoards of 10-14 year old girls that vote for him.

Tim may have had a better night than the usually great Sibohan imho, and he really stepped it up from past Tim performances. The Beatles haircut, hollowbody guitar, and singing Beatles was right up his alley. If it were disco night, Tim would be sent packing. ;)

If Tim works off of the momentum of getting more votes than Aaron, Andrew, and Mike, he can make top six, maybe even top three. But he will have to really put some emotion and energy into his next performances. I think Tim was just slow in getting his sea legs for American Idol, and same with Andrew.

I still don't think Tim can win this contest, but if he does, it will be the biggest comeback in years on this show. He already has the looks and has the female vote locked up for those female (10-20 year olds) who want to be fickle enough to vote for somebody "cute". I also think Aaron shouldn't be there, but I have a feeling young girls/women put in votes for Aaron.

Mike's a great singer but maybe too scary and muscleman like for the girls. Ruben was big but not scary. Casey is a great guitarist, and not bad singer, but he's 28 and can't seem to appear youthful and "relevant" like Simon says. If Casey does another "rock star academy graduate" performance for a Holiday Inn or wedding, he's going to be in trouble. :)

Katie can use her momentum, like Tim, to propel into top six and now I am rooting for the two, who I originally thought were "utterly dreadful and dreary"

It most likely will be after this season.

I think they can squeeze out a couple of more seasons by making this one full of drama.

First of all
, reality tv is either partial reality, or not reality at all.

Could it be that AI put Michael at the bottom, worked with the judges to make a last minute save, and then have all of us buzzing with gossip about the show?

The save was certainly one thing which will make more people tune in next week.

Two people will get kicked off and it can jump start this mediocre season so far.

Maybe that's also why the judges decided to save Mike - or at least it helped them make their decision. It would be a shame to see Mike go before Tim. Amazingly enough though, he wasn't even among the bottom three this time. He is indeed a teflon Tim: manages to slip through into the next round. :)

umm American Idol is one of the highest watched shows on TV (still). It isn't going anywhere next season.

Yeah, but not up to their own standards when each year, there were a record amount of votes cast in the 30-40 million votes weekly. Now it's in the 20s or less. People who are longtime watchers of this show, will call this the weakest season yet, the judges to some point who seem somewhat uninterested, but definitely the singers.

How do you follow up on big voices like Danny, Adam, and Kris? You can't. And who replaces Paula Abdul? Again, you can't and it would take at least a couple of seasons for Ellen to grow into it. I know Ellen is up to it but right now she's just merely present with a few well placed jokes in there.

It may be around one more season, but that's it. It won't survive without Simon. This is basically it this year.

If they can land that mean young judge from Dancing with the Stars or Howard Stern, they have a chance. Randy has become too nice. Kara is almost as nice as Paula, and Ellen can't be mean if her life depended on it. This is FOX so Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, both meanies to the core, could fit the bill. I respect Simon's opinion, but I think he's just a jerk sometimes and terribly inappropriate.

Simon is very good at what he does and his scowl and anger are real much of the time, and that's what people who run the show sign him up for. His most typical response is to admonish the other three judges when they love a performance. "I have to say I just don't have the same enthusiasm as the other three judges." I think, "Shut the hell up, Simon, you are jet lagged!"

Simon, if he were a judge, judging an unknown Elvis would say that hip shaking is what only a prostitute or go-go dancer would do. If the Beatles were on the show, he would say they were pitchy, which they actually were live. If the Rolling Stones were on the show as contestants, Simon would say they are downright not good looking and the singer has big lips. You get the point.

Even when Fantasia, Ruben, Carrie, Clay, or Adam had a great performance, Simon, and only Simon finds something truly insulting and damaging to say to the person.

If Tim makes it to the top three, it would be an shock to me. Vocally, he is no where near Lee and Crystal, or Mike, Siobhan, and even Katie. Its unfortunate that we take his looks and attitude over his abilities, because if it was vice versa, he would have been gone already.

I dont know what it is about Mike, but I am just not a fan. He has a very good voice, but he plays it way too soft for me, and really needs to "rock out" a little more. I know its all about the moment for him, and he is a big teddy bear, but his persona is starting to wear off like Siobhan's scream. He is going to be a good artist in the future, but this slow, R&B thing he's got is just not working for him IMO.

I still think its Lee's competition to lose, but damn, this kid has got to wake up. He is super talented, and has a unique voice, but his confidence issue might hurt him sooner or later.

I'd say Lee woke up last week. He was brilliant with "Treat Her like a Lady".

Yes, Lee is great, but he really needs to want to win, and then he just needs to go and take it. But is he up to it? I liked Simon when he commented regarding Lee a few weeks ago. He said that he didn't know what it was, but "something must have happened," when he referred to Lee's lack of self-confidence. Simon said that Lee wouldn't even look him straight in the eyes. I don't know if he was abused as a kid in some way or this is just how he is. If he can't overcome this issue, I don't see him going too far in his singing career.

The big changes this time were that Andrew, while getting his mojo back in the last two weeks, lost it again. He was very mediocre and like a wedding singer.

Tim Urban really hit it out of the park last night. He should be safe based on that performance. If he puts out like this performance last night, he can make top 3.

The rest of the contestants performed pretty much the way I thought they would. We are starting to see some consistency here. Mike, Lee, and Crystal were, like usual, my favorites regardless of how America voted.

It was worth doing the save on Mike, as he owned the night and had done his homework and had a perfect song choice. Too many contestants, while they may have great voices, picked the wrong song. Elvis has a huge catalog to choose from. Poor Andrew took a high energy song and tried to turn it into a ballad. Stuff like this only happens from people who have never seen Elvis or understood the concept of the King's place in rock and roll history.

Lee will be fine. He's getting better every week.

Andrew is horrible. He doesn't have it, and never will. The times he has have been flukes. Tim is strange to me. I mean yeah, the guy is really cute, but the singing is sometimes terrible and sometimes brilliant. There's no in between. So he's like Andrew for me. I don't think he gets and I don't think he ever will.

It's gonna be Crystal, Lee and Mike if there's any justice.

Crystal, Lee, and Mike are the consistent ones.

I thought early on Sibohan could join that elite group of three to make it four standouts, but she has kind of wavered. Sibohan could be the dark horse though, kind of like Kris Allen who barely looked like he would make the top six last year.

Personally, I would like to see two more people really step it up and make this a season to remember.

Like one article said, all good singers or all bad singers is great, but all mediocre singers, as the 12 started off as, is bad for the show.

I can't stand a "safe" performance, and I like a singer to take a chance and either fall or have a moment. It especially is great when the judges are very split on a chancy performance.

Nobody talks about Casey very much, since he's good but plays it too safe almost every time, except for the brilliant week when he sang "Jealous Man" by John Lennon.

Katie went home. No surprise there.

Andrew went home, but I thought Tim would go this week and perhaps Andrew next week.

For next week, Tim will go, followed by Aaron, but for now it's been a guys season as there are only two girls left.

In order of least to best from now on:

Tim...he's gone beyond my expectations and I thought he would have been #12
Aaron...he's one of the most improved from the beginning
Sibohan...peaked early, but can still get it back
Casey...better guitar player than singer, but can sing sometimes

Mike...like a less talented version of Ruben, but facing lesser competition
Lee...most likely runner up and took some time to reach his true peak
Crystal...arguably the most consistent of the remaining contestants, yet not versatile like Lee

well this show is getting boring to me now. as more girls go off - my interest falls.

maybe now andrew can go and record that chris brown song he sang a few weeks ago so i can buy it.

I never saw last season, but Adam Lambert wow. what a performer. No one this year even comes 10% close to him. This year sort of reminds me of the year with that guy who looks like jay leno - nice voices but no stage performance.

and that girl that screams every week. is it just me or is her voice really odd...like very horse-like. its odd.

Thank god Andrew and Katie are gone. I couldn't have watched either of them one more week.

This is the Lee and Crystal show. Everyone else is a guest star. Siobhan will go home next week, leaving Crystal to represent the girls. And that's how it should be.

iOrlando- if you'd start watching the show for talent instead of ogling the girls, you might like it better. I still find it hard to believe that you only listen to music made by "hot chicks". If that's your only interest, may I direct you again to America's Next Top Model?

Also, if you were more concerned about talent, perhaps you would not have missed Adam Lambert kick ass all of last season. You should have seen the episode where KISS was his backup band. It was awesome.

I would have liked to have seen Siobahn (sp?) go last night, I was happy to see Katie leave. I agree that Lee and Crystal are both fantastic. The rest, well, they don't really register. Although my wife likes Casey, 'cause he's cute.
