Amy Winehouse Dead

Amy Winehouse Dies aged 27

Miss Winehouse, who came to fame with her debut album Frank in 2003, was found at her flat in north London this afternoon, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

They say that they received a call at 4.05pm calling for help for a woman in Camden. Paramedics were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is "unexplained" but not thought to be suspicious, according to police. Sources have told the Sunday Mirror that an overdose of drink and drugs is the suspected cause of death.

That's too bad. While her life style was rather chaotic, I didn't mind her music.

Colleagues and friends seem to be quietly asking each other 'other than hard drugs... what did she actually do?'.

very sad ... I believe she truly wanted to stay clean

another example as to how gripping drug addiction can be

As for talent ... she was blessed with raw soul

The only talent she had was doing drugs. Her musical talent only lasted for none of her albums. She was not that good to begin with.

Elvis was a junkie with TALENT.

Winehouse was just a junkie with MONEY.

I'm so sick of feeling sorry for every recording artist that dies because they decided to destroy themselves. Like enough with the mawkish sentimentality.

I guess she shouldn't have said NO NO NO to rehab.

Not really.

And that was a 2008 estimate. She didn't put out any new material and I'm sure she'd burned through a ton of that money.

Throw in the fact that she was an addict, living in an expensive city and probably partially supporting her immediate family; ~$20 million USD wouldn't go that far.
