Analysis of the "1" notification on the iPhone icon

It means there's an interstate highway that turns into US highway 1 south of San Francisco .
Keep in mind the following:
1-the 4 in the calendar represents the date of the event. Oct 4
2-the time on the clock is 10:00. The actual time of the event
3-while the map icon is the standard map icon, it is also pinpointing the exact location of the event. Infinite campus, cupertine ca.
4-with all that said, why WOULDN'T the 1 on the missed calls mean something?

No, it must mean the next iPhone has a PPI of 280 (lower from the 326 on the current iPhone). This could only mean that Apple has increased the size of the screen.
Oh it means something alright. Apple pays great attention to little details like this. What's the meaning? We'll have to speculate. And that's exactly what Apple wants us to do, to keep talking about the next iPhone and keep/build the hype up.
I can see things are heating up in here... calm down, seriously. At the same time, telling someone to go kill themselves isn't at all appropriate. The OP has his/her views just like the 45 other thread OP's who posted similar threads. With that being said, learn to respect peoples opinions.
OP: I don't agree with you on number 4. Strong rumors (including my own sources) suggest that there will be a brand new iPhone, and an upgrade to the existing 4th generation. I think the +1 is there to represent something similar to "One more thing" at the end. Let's just hope that the "one more thing" is that iOS 5 will be released on the 4th. I'd like that.

The Phone icon -- Ah, yes, the number 1. It can mean many things. One is the loneliest number, and its location on the upper right-hand corner of the icon has special meaning. That points to the north east, and in the olden days of America, that's where witches were burned -- in the north east part of the country. It is obvious to any one that there is magic and witch craft involved in the design of the new phones. The green pin stripes on the background portray an event where all of the Apple executives will be wearing suits. The white phone icon even has deep meaning. Note that it looks exactly like a silhouette of a fetus, which points to the birth of a new era of technology, cheap beer, and world peace.
Graphically speaking..I think it's there because every other icon has red in it. I just balances the whole thing out.
Apple obviously knows that the whole tech world is talking about 2 devices. For apple to put that there to clear up that there is only one device is not even a little bit creative. Its rather stupid IMO.
So put ur fears to rest. The new iPhone or phones will include a completely revamped iPhone 5. No doubt about it. Everyone is over thinking this whole thing. It's so simple. Apple is not going to have 2 identical devices at drastically different price points...and no...don't point out 3G & 3GS. That was a different time. They could get away with it back then because u didn't have the diversity and advancements that u do now.
If motorola put out a Droid, and then a year and a half later put out the same exact Droid with different specs, I would think that was ridiculous. Just my opinion. The problem is that we are all thinking back from a time that was SO much different then it is today.

The famous Stevenote "One more thing", with respect to the phone. Could be iPhone 5, iPhone Cloud or something we haven't even thought of. Only question is whether SJ himself will take the stage at that point for the sole purpose of announcing what "One more thing" means this time around. The crowd would go wild if he were well enough to at least make a cameo appearance.
This. Also, not everyone may have gotten all the references (i.e. I didn't know the maps icon pointed out the specific Apple location), and this will probably make them smirk.
I think I'd have to say I'm more excited for iOS5 than any new phone at this point, so I too hope iOS5 comes out on the 4th.
Unfortunately for users I doubt iOS 5 would come out on the 4th, because developers do not have any apps ready because they don't even have the GM yet. More than likely, Apple will want some major app updates on the launch of iOS 5 to users, so I wouldn't expect it for about a week.
Ive watched the last couple invitation statements an the numbers and date are always referring the model type. See iphone 4 and ipad 2. So it will be about the iphone 4 but the number 1 is certainly important as its the only lead to a new iphone model. I think cooke will say at the end hey i've got 1 missed call and when he dials that number Jobs will show up on a screen.
