I’m hoping Apple follows through will that rumored iPhone 4 like design. The iPhone 4’s square design is one of my all time favorites. 🤞

I think they will.

iPhone 4 released in 2010. Almost the 10 year anniversary of one of the most radical iPhones. Also, just by looking at the new iPad Pro you can tell the iPhone 4-esque design is coming.

I’m OK with only low frequency 5G, as I don’t want my iPhone to heat up and drain its battery looking for mmWave antennas that aren’t common in my city. Actually, I’m pretty happy to hear this, as I’d like to buy the next 5,4” iPhone If it’s not too expensive.

BUT I don’t like not having a TelePhoto lens on the smaller iPhone. One think I miss from all my iPhones is the ability to make good quality zoom, or taking high res photos to small things.
Shouldn't the smaller one have telephoto and just not have the ultra wide?

The whole ‘5G’ isn’t a selling point for me and probably won’t be for a lot of consumers pending location. But the various new displays sizes for those who want a smaller iPhone with a lower price point will be.

Ultimately, Apple having separate iPhone launches breaks up the confusion of all these new models, and allows for Apple to highlight different phone models throughout the year.

I wish it ends up being that way, honestly. But just look at the iPhone 11. The basic, cheap iPhone. Which lens is lacking? Exactly, the Telephoto. It has both the regular wide, and the ultra wide cameras.

Apparently the more appealing, or expensive lens is the Telephoto. Hopefully I will be wrong.

Interesting it will be all OLED
1. 5.4" SE Regular notch/TouchID under the screen?
2. 6.1" OLED (1M:0 contrast, like the X, XS display) Regular notch
3. 6.1" 12 PRO (2M:0 contrast, "XDR" Pro display) Smaller notch
4. 6.7" 12 PRO MAX (Same display as above) Smaller notch

I'm all in if the small PRO is not 5.4" 🤪

Flat edges were needed to attach the Pencil to the iPad Pro. I don't see the same thing happening with iPhone 5G. Rounded edges make a device feel thinner.

5G is the new 3D-TV.

You mean like Samsung’s 3D-curved TV that failed miserably? 😁

I just don’t think the tangible benefits for 5G will be available right away for a large demographic, it will take years to mature/become widespread.

So many models... did they hire too many ex-Samsung employees?
;)

That’s just it, with all these newer models, having separate launches would create less confusion and Apple can highlight different features/capabilities for different phone models twice a year.

One in May and then one in September/October time, will help keep publicity all year round in terms of the iPhone market.

Apple could, however, be planning to release two higher-end devices in 6.1 and 6.7-inch screen sizes, and two lower-end devices in 5.4 and 6.1-inch screen sizes

This absolutely makes sense, and it makes me happy and willing to upgrade again.
Potentially going from X's screen size to a smaller one had me on doubts about upgrading after the initial rumours. But hopefully, this is the way. :D

For me this would be a way more logical line up if they are going to release 5 phones:

4.7” - A13 - SE2
5.4” - A14 - 12
6.1” - A14 - 12 Max
5.8” - A14 - 12 Pro
6.7” - A14 - 12 Pro Max

Everybody happy! Because of that, don’t think its gonna happen 😄

For those of us who don't upgrade our iPhone every year, I'll buy the 2020 iPhone that includes the most future-proof features as possible with:

1.) Both 5G connectivity included
2.) Samsung's finest OLED Display
3.) Top-of-the-line Qualcomm X55 modem (bye bye Intel)
4.) Improved Face ID and integrated Touch ID
5.) Reduced or eliminated notch - let's see if Ming-Chi is correct on this one
6.) Sapphire display material on the front and back of the iPhone
7.) Improved battery life within a thinner iPhone profile
8.) ProMotion Display with a refresh rate of 120Hz
9.) At least 6 GB of RAM
10.) 3D triple-lens rear camera system that uses a laser to calculate depth information for objects in the room, improving both photography and AR capabilities - again, let's see if Ming-Chi nailed this one!

Ok Apple, I'll pre-order this 2020 iPhone 12 Pro in 6.7" Space Gray :cool::apple::cool::apple:

Part of this rings true to me — forcing existing Pro users to switch to a dramatically different screen size doesn’t make sense. I think a 6.1” Pro is very likely.

This update reads as bad news to me, though — my whole family has skipped phone upgrades this year in anticipation of a top-end 5.4” phone next year. If that phone has a cut-down “budget” placement I’m going to be very disappointed.

Analyst hype. Probably features will be spread out over 3 years.

6.1 iPhone will kill it with OLED display sales wise....looking forward to the 6.7 inch device myself.
