For those of us who don't upgrade our iPhone every year, I'll buy the 2020 iPhone that includes the most future-proof features as possible with:

1.) Both 5G connectivity included
2.) Samsung's finest OLED Display
3.) Top-of-the-line Qualcomm X55 modem (bye bye Intel)
4.) Improved Face ID and integrated Touch ID
5.) Reduced or eliminated notch - let's see if Ming-Chi is correct on this one
6.) Sapphire display material on the front and back of the iPhone
7.) Improved battery life within a thinner iPhone profile
8.) ProMotion Display with a refresh rate of 120Hz
9.) At least 6 GB of RAM
10.) 3D triple-lens rear camera system that uses a laser to calculate depth information for objects in the room, improving both photography and AR capabilities - again, let's see if Ming-Chi nailed this one!

Ok Apple, I'll pre-order this 2020 iPhone 12 Pro in 6.7" Space Gray :cool::apple::cool::apple:

And a $2000 iPhone here we come. Seriously though, if you want a Sapphire display material for front and back of the phone, not only will it be more expensive but will break more easily. Some of the features you listed, like the Sapphire will really increase the price and if done all in one go, would make the phone much more expensive. I'd expect the 2020 iPhone to be 10 percent more expensive with some of the features you listed.

Apple could, however, be planning to release two higher-end devices in 6.1 and 6.7-inch screen sizes, and two lower-end devices in 5.4 and 6.1-inch screen sizes as Chatterjee suggests, though it's not clear yet if this is the company's plan.
This would be terrible. Not everyone wants a big ass chub in their hands. Some of us want a higher-end phone they can operate with one hand. 5.4” is just about right to work with one hand.

No $ from me until no notch.
I have absolute confidence that others will find things equally inconsequential to complain about on these forums with all future iPhone releases.

One of the things Steve Jobs did when he returned to Apple in the late '90s was clean up the product range which had become insanely unwieldy. At that time Apple was making just about every possible configuration to try and satisfy all the varying needs to the point is was difficult for a consumer to choose the right computer for them (the "LCs" should never have been released by Apple). Steve Jobs narrowed the field to a single desktop and laptop on both the consumer and pro side; four product categories. It worked, Apple started selling computers again. I am hoping we are not going down the same path as the early '90s where Apple sold a overly wide range of products with compromised technology in order to hit the lower price point vs. quality components that some people think is the correct path.

Ugh!!!

So I will be officially boxed out of their new lines of phone products as I am with their laptops.

Apple - Fix the PWM issues so users with eye sensitivity can still enjoy your products.

I pray that the rumored Mini LED iPads are PWM free...

I hope these rumors of a smaller screen are NOT true. They finally found a decent balance between screen size and the physical body of the phone. 5.8 to 5.4 might not seem like that much, but that’s diagonal, which is fairly significant. Unless they are getting rid of the notch, reducing the price, or taking down the “Edge to Edge” screen a bit, I don’t want smaller than what I have now. I, for one, would welcome a bit more on the bezels. Sometimes near bezel-less phones are actually somewhat counterproductive.

There's just no way!! Apple isn't going to "lean in" to this segment. It's all about wearables and services in 2020 and beyond. iPhone will become the iPod touch of its time.

I could see Apple doing two iPhone launches per year for the next 5 years, until wearables like the Apple watch become functional enough to replace iPhones completely. I agree that wearables and services will become an integral part of Apple's profits, but we haven't reached that point yet.

Slightly bummed by the 5.8" model leaving the line up. I just got an iPhone 11 from work and I think the 6.1" size is too large. Can't see myself running or riding with it. Much prefer the X/XS/11 Pro.

I will not buy another notched iPhone. It will be 2020, and Apple should copy everyone else and eliminate the notch at least on the Pro models. The biggest gripe I have, other than the software, is paying this insane amount of money to see a notch in my videos. It should have been eliminated in 2019. It’s big, absurd, and makes all the iPhones look so outdated. Love the screen quality, thanks Samsung. Hate the notch, thanks Apple.

As with anything, it depends on the size of one's hands ;)

Dont worry, the new apple is all about having tons of choice in iPhone models.
I predict 5", 5.2", 5.4", 5.8", 6.1", 6.5", ad 6.7" models coming

Can't innovate, heck no! Takes innovation to come up with different sizes!

Looks like the 2021 model is the way to go. I’d rather have a second gen 5G iPhone rather than first. Especially for the price of these devices, one must be strategic when it comes to making the purchase. Or just upgrade each year

I wish it ends up being that way, honestly. But just look at the iPhone 11. The basic, cheap iPhone. Which lens is lacking? Exactly, the Telephoto. It has both the regular wide, and the ultra wide cameras.

Apparently the more appealing, or expensive lens is the Telephoto. Hopefully I will be wrong.
Ah. I had that backwards then.

I would absolutely love a 6.1 inch Pro. I have the Pro Max now but don't want to go any bigger. 6.1 would be a perfect compromise.

I hope the 5.4" model pleases the SE lovers. But probably not, it's too chunky and too big, am i right?

Where would you recommend to put the sensors and other tech the notch currently houses?
