As far as I know, someone must have used "gold" before our time as well, but we still recognize a great goldsmith when we see great jewelry. The fact that the raw materials have been around for other people to use does not make a design any less wonderful than it is.

yeah, but when it's a copy it's, most of the time, really crapy...
for example, iPods are often copied and they are things that read videos, but it's crap!!!!

know how you feel....with the MB update a couple of weeks ago, I was refreshing every few seconds. Even though I knew it wasn't going to happen.
I need WWDC rumors mentioning new/updated MBP's.
If one thinks about it, if there are going to be new MBPs at WWDC then somebody has already had there hands on one. They have to have been manufactured already if they are going to be available the next day. Or they are being made right now. Just to think - all those people know what it is, how it looks, how it feels, its specs and nobody is talking 
Somebody already knows - maybe if we start up a collection, somebody will talk - I think I can throw in $10 to start it lol. I hope my introduction to this fabulous and informative forum come across with the intended humour. Soon to be switching over to Macs and a MBP.

I can't really contribute to your collection... After I shell out the cash for a new MBP, I won't have $10 to spare
Just thinking ahead, here...Keep in mind that Apple does tend to make Wednesday releases in weeks for which Monday is a U.S. holiday. (I do not mean that they seek out holiday weeks for their releases, just that if the week they have chosen happens to have a holiday on Monday then we get a Wednesday release.)
So you can hold on to a shred of your hope if you want to.

I ordered a MBP on May 8th. Shipment was delayed until May 25th. On May 25th I received an additional email that says my MBP will ship on or before June 7th. I ordered through the education store. Is Apple still shipping MBP's for regular sales or are they just stopping all orders? There is obviously a new release right around the corner but have they really not been fulfilling orders for a month?

You're probably getting one of the first New Ones
June 7 is a Thursday... If they announce new MBP's on Tuesday June 5, two days would give them just enough time to customize it and ship it out to him

Many times Apple releases stuff on tuesdays. Their schedule probably says "week XYZ" for release and they reserve monday for making sure everything is okay.
Special events such as WWDC are always exception, anything can happen.
Yeah I'm waiting for the WWDC now can't wait to get my Macbook pro, I've sold my PC laptop and am now surviving using my girlfriend 3 year old desktop machine!

50-50, meaning it will either happen or not. I'd kill for LED-backlighted 1680x1050 desktop at 15" MBP
Either evidence of an update or totally made up. . . I couldn't tell you which.
Either way, I have no idea when they're going to release this thing or what it's going to be like.
Hope it's soon though. And hope it includes the new portable flux capacitor circuit.
I don't understand why you'd want this...? To me, that would make everything on the screen extremely small, and it would be a pain for me as someone who does graphic/web design, in that, if I design a site and it takes up half my screen, it might not even fit on somebody else's screen. So it's hard for me to tell what the average user is seeing.
