No, a 4.9" iPhone can have the same resolution as the iPhone 5.
No, we are not taking CELL PHONE, we are talking PHABLET.

Apple is already 2 years behind here not competing.
4.8" screen? Please don't.
Nope
One size fits all isn't working anymore.
Apple needs 3 sizes.
1. iPhone nano. Basic iPod and phone duties.
2. iPhone. Typical 4" display and features.
3. iPhone Pro/HD whatver. 4.8" screen 128gb, bigger battery. Quad core etc.
Well, 5" is an approximate number. 4.8" is a phone for me but it is a phablet for people who say that's too big for a phone.A phablet has to be at least 5 inches...
4.3 inch would be perfect for you. For me it's 4.8"-5". To each its own. Apple's one size fits all approach does not work anymore. Sure Apple still can't make phones fast enough to meet demand, but they giving away huge market segment allowing competitors to make profits. Apple stopped innovating while being locked into a niche 4" market. Eventually this lazy and cocky strategy will backfire.I think 4.3 inch would be perfect (Apple also needs to increase the width not just he length)
They tell us 4" is just right yet they have 4"8 in the pipeline I find it funny..
I reckon there just paranoid everybody goes for bigger Android phones. The Galaxy has already failed by having to release smaller one after there flagship one was well known for being just too BIG!![]()
We shall see. Heck, people doubted the iPad Mini and now we have one in our hands. Apple probably has tons of different iPhone sizes. Doesn't matter to me, I get the latest iPhone each year. If its 4" in 2014, then I'll just have another 4" phone.
Maps are only bad depending on where you live. I live in Indiana and have yet to find any issues with the mapping service aside from a few streets not being labeled on my college campus (which is understandable because they were just built after tearing down old buildings and putting new ones in)
However, other places are apparently horrendous.
And to answer your other question, yes they can be fixed easily without upgrading the hardware.
But Apple makes 2 ipad screen sizes, 4 ipod sizes, 3 laptop sizes, 2 imac sizes.
Yes, they still make the old dated iphone 3.5" model, but it's on the way out.
Hopefully not. A lot of people think the 3.5" iPhone 4 is already too big or almost too big. All my cell phones were smaller before my first iPhone. They need a small model to serve this market, and potentially also serve the more budget minded demographic segment.
Wait... What can you not, exactly, "wait" for? How are you excited about something that you know nothing about. "Man, I can't wait for food that is electronically placed into my stomach"

You're probably over 50
4.8" screen? Please don't.
I read that google maps will be available for iphone 5 soon. Hopefully, that's the case. It will not have turn by turn directions, however.
I really don't trust apple to upgrade and update maps properly at this point.
Apple is doing a GREAT JOB! A great job of destroying the functionality of formerly great programs, that is!
