Anonymous Analysts are going wild, wild baby!

The iPhone 5 is too new, so the analyst maybe be trying to make people think and wait, and don't buy an iPhone 5 this holidays

No, a 4.9" iPhone can have the same resolution as the iPhone 5.

If the resolution is the same, what about the new found real estate on the screen? what will the apps do to fill up the empty space? If they do auto increase (basically everything look bigger to fill up the screen), then you start have problem of things don't look natural. Android would have solve this problem if this is a simple solution. There are a fair number of complaints about Ipad mini image (mostly font too small but if you increase the font only, webpage etc will look really out of balance) since it shrink the Ipad app image by 35%. And a 4 inch to 4.9 inches Iphone will increase the screen real estate in the neighborhood of 50+%. The problem is tough because the people who has to fix the problem are the app owners and Apple has no control on their schedule.

No, we are not taking CELL PHONE, we are talking PHABLET.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phablet

Apple is already 2 years behind here not competing.

A phablet has to be at least 5 inches...

iPhone 5 - 4 inches
Windows Phone 8X - 4.3 inches
Nexus 4 - 4.7 inches
Galaxy SIII - 4.8 inches
Droid DNA - 5 inches
Galaxy Note II - 5.5 inches

I think 4.3 inch would be perfect (Apple also needs to increase the width not just he length)

One size fits all isn't working anymore.

Apple needs 3 sizes.

1. iPhone nano. Basic iPod and phone duties.

2. iPhone. Typical 4" display and features.

3. iPhone Pro/HD whatver. 4.8" screen 128gb, bigger battery. Quad core etc.

Sounds disastrous for the consumer, regardless. Why? If Apple decides to go with multiple iPhone models, you can bet you'll never get your perfect iPhone anymore. Whatever spec they will put into the iPhone Pro, you will not find in the normal 4'' iPhone, and so on and so forth. Apple will never just let the screen size be the difference.

I could see Apple releasing the 5S in June or there about. I could maybe see them increasing potential capacity to 128GB eventually. But much of this other stuff is crazy! I hope they don't go the route of a 4.8" screen! That is one of the worst features of Android phones! The iPhone needed an increase from 3.5", but those gigantic phones (like the SGS3) have just gotten grotesquely oversized! (Of course, that's just my opinion.) And Apple's devices are beautiful in the two colors they already offer... I'm not saying more choices are all bad, but 6-8 colors is petty ridiculous IMHO!!

Anyway, I just got my 5 less than a week ago, so I really don't care to start lusting over what they may release 6 or more months from now. I'm very happy with the 5!! Two things are for sure... Apple will release a new iPhone at some point next year, and it will have improvements. Aside from that, it's truly anyone's guess what it'll actually have.

Well, 5" is an approximate number. 4.8" is a phone for me but it is a phablet for people who say that's too big for a phone.

4.3 inch would be perfect for you. For me it's 4.8"-5". To each its own. Apple's one size fits all approach does not work anymore. Sure Apple still can't make phones fast enough to meet demand, but they giving away huge market segment allowing competitors to make profits. Apple stopped innovating while being locked into a niche 4" market. Eventually this lazy and cocky strategy will backfire.

..yyyyeah...

... and I also hurrrrd the new iPhone 5s will come with the option to *wait for it* ...

... RUN ANDROID

Seriously, where do they get these people?

They tell us 4" is just right yet they have 4"8 in the pipeline I find it funny..

I reckon there just paranoid everybody goes for bigger Android phones. The Galaxy has already failed by having to release smaller one after there flagship one was well known for being just too BIG!

We shall see. Heck, people doubted the iPad Mini and now we have one in our hands. Apple probably has tons of different iPhone sizes. Doesn't matter to me, I get the latest iPhone each year. If its 4" in 2014, then I'll just have another 4" phone.

I feel they should move to faster Flash memory, now that they adopted USB 3.0, it's time their phones followed as well. Would be a good upgrade for 5S as it's biggest improvement will be speed.

Releasing various sizes would be popular but the smaller one will always be lesser spec like Galaxy mini.

Apple have to decide carefully which size a flagship phone should be..going too big might not be the answer.

I'd like the iPhone 5 Google Maps edition... That's all I really need... Better bigger faster can wait....

Maps are only bad depending on where you live. I live in Indiana and have yet to find any issues with the mapping service aside from a few streets not being labeled on my college campus (which is understandable because they were just built after tearing down old buildings and putting new ones in)

However, other places are apparently horrendous.

And to answer your other question, yes they can be fixed easily without upgrading the hardware.

I read that google maps will be available for iphone 5 soon. Hopefully, that's the case. It will not have turn by turn directions, however.

I really don't trust apple to upgrade and update maps properly at this point.

Apple is doing a GREAT JOB! A great job of destroying the functionality of formerly great programs, that is!

Why would they remove the physical home button? It's sooo much more convenient than the touchbuttons all the competitors are using. I always manage to hit those touch buttons when I don't want to.

But Apple makes 2 ipad screen sizes, 4 ipod sizes, 3 laptop sizes, 2 imac sizes.

Yes, they still make the old dated iphone 3.5" model, but it's on the way out.

Hopefully not. A lot of people think the 3.5" iPhone 4 is already too big or almost too big. All my cell phones were smaller before my first iPhone. They need a small model to serve this market, and potentially also serve the more budget minded demographic segment.

It's revolutionary.

No one I know thinks the iPhone 4 or the 4s is too big.

Wait... What can you not, exactly, "wait" for? How are you excited about something that you know nothing about. "Man, I can't wait for food that is electronically placed into my stomach"

You're probably over 50

I have a 4S. I'd like the 5, but the 5S will undoubtedly be better than both the 4S and the 5.

I can't upgrade till May, so I'd rather not get the 5 when the 5S will be out soon. That's why I can't wait for the 5S. May not know much about it, but I do know it'll be better.

I can see something like this being on the iPhone 6, but not the 5 S. The mid-cycle "S" model has usually been a spec-bump upgrade of the current design. If they go with a newer design/increased storage, features the non-S phone has (NFC), it's going to be the next non-S phone release.

That said...128GB storage? I'm all in. Whenever it happens.

So, Google will essentially be putting out exactly what was taken away? And people love this company becauuuuse....
