S2:E3-The Harvest
Andor makes use of his experimental ship, brief but good. Mon dances in an overly enthusiastically conflicted manner at her daughter’s wedding.

S2:E4- Ever Been To Ghorman? 1 Year later. After his disastrous foray to Ferriix, Karn is back n the game. Ghorman (planet) is in play by the Empire due to its mineral resources. Saw Gerrera seeks mining tech? Dedra still hopes Andor and Axis is found.

This has been the greatest star wars of all. I'm sad it's coming to an end. Still exhausted from everything that happened last week.

I swear people eat more in this season than I have seen people eat in all other StarWars movies/shows combined.

Not foreign to SW, which has its share of cantinas, but they also drink (a lot), and do drugs. Faith healers/practitioners are also still viewed with skepticism.

Real people. Real life.

It was unavoidable, but the sprinkling of droids and non-human species has also been heavier in the second season.

If we were to treat Ghorman as an example, it seems that the rich don't rely on droids much, but that might be particular that their culture. The Chandrilans use them at parties.

S2:5 I have friends everywhere-
Karn is involved in playing the Ghormans on behalf of the Empire.

S2:E6 What a Festive Evening- Some things happen. Bix gets some satisfactory closure on her terrifying torture ordeal. 🤔

… So far, this season is dragging compared to S1. (said on the basis of relatively limited time to work with).

Episode 7, as I said earlier. It picks up. And accelerates from there.

It’s maybe the decision to cover such a large time period, requiring some broad strokes, a small window of what happened during the period of a year giving the audience some flavor. Fingers crossed so far has been the hors d’oeuvres, and dinner will be served during the third course. :)

I mean two (one well-liked) characters left, and there was a controversial scene which fortunately was resolved with use of a monkey wrench (hard to watch but kind of satisfying as well as the other scene involving Bix). But just wait ...

S2:E7 Messenger
- Yavin Base proper.

S2:E8 Who Are You? The tragic reality of Ghorman as orchestrated by The Empire, Andor witnesses. From a story perspective, finally! 😉😳
Karn is clearly conflicted about what he realizes he’s part of, unknowingly probably saving Dedra’s life. Even she seems shaken, but shaken about what, as she gets a grip and shakes it off in the end.

S2:E9 Welcome to the Rebellion- Tense! Excellent. More real gravity associated with the Imperial Senate than the movies. This really ties in wonderfully with Movie Episodes 1-3. A senior moment, Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly ) I knew I’d seen here before, but she’s too young, then I remembered Rogue One. And the Senator who was Mon’s ally, (Benjamin Brat), I was thinking, where have I seen him? …Miss Congeniality. :)

S2:E10 Make It Stop-A super weapon, hmm. 🤔 Sad… More excellence. Great Hospital encounter.

She was also briefly in one of the prequel movies as Mon Mothma. Unfortunately, the majority of her scenes were cut. However, it was because of that she was asked back to play Mon in Rogue One.

And because she was in Rogue One…she's in Andor.

O'Reilly did her homework in studying how Caroline Blakiston portrayed Mon Mothma in Return of the Jedi. She wanted to find out who Mon was in Andor and is grateful that Tony Gilroy gave her that opportunity.

He also played one of the villains (voice roll) in a Despicable Me sequel.

The team at Disney tried hard, but were unable to make schedules align to have Jimmy Smits return as Bail Organa. Hence, Benjamin Bratt.

What a ride! Finished last night. Gotta take a moment to digest this. Fantastic.
I’m anticipating episodes 11 and 12 today! 😊

Yea, Jimmy Smits, Star Wars, Rogue One, LA Law! 🙃

S2:E11- Who Else Knows? - I didn't see that coming Dedra in hot water. Remembering why I loved K-2SO. 😊

S2:E12- Jedda, Kyber, Erso- It dawns on you, you just watched some Star Wars that wasn’t flubbed, INCREDIBLE. It gave me warm and fuzzies to have witnessed this. It reminds you of how emotionally powerful good writing is. It also reminds me of how unforgiving the Empire is when faced with failure. On to Rogue One.

New Unofficial Star Wars Episode Reorganization
  • Episode 1: How gullible Annakin Skywalker made some bad life choices and Obi-Wan blew it, The Republic gives way to the Empire. Bla-Bla (Phantom Menace, Attack of Clones, Revenge of Sith) Of historical interest mostly.
  • Episode 2: Andor
  • Episode 3: Rogue One
  • Episode 4: A New Hope
  • Episode 5: Empire strikes Back
  • Episode 6: Return of the Jedi
Waiting for rewrites:
  • Episode 7: Copy Paste, Betrayal of the Faith, a new low for $$$.
  • Episode 8: THINK, THINK, THINK, Writers block!
  • Episode 9: Screw’m, slap a Star Wars title on it and they will come.

I had a hard time feeling much sympathy for the Ghor. Their bumbling inept attempts to rebel speak to an arrogant mindset (IMO). The guy who killed Cinta being a perfect example. It's all fun and games being cloak and dagger with guns until someone gets shot for real.

Dedra didn't really have to try very hard to get her rebels to do the 'right' thing at the 'right' time. I only wish Cassian could have found out who Syril was.

It's sad about Bix. She will never find Cassian, despite telling him she would. And she will probably live the rest of her life wondering why she can't find him. Very few people actually know who was there on Scarif and why. And most of those who know died there.

Lastly…'killer robots'? The correct designation is Imperial Security Droid. ;)

These are the droids you'd find on sentry duty at Imperial installations. They were just brought in because it was known that the damage they could do to unarmed civilians was significant.
Spoiler
Bix knew there were poor odds of survival, but felt the rebellion was too important for them to have personal lives, for Cassian to bow out, without regret if the Empire ended up winning. Maybe she hopes for the idea of love persisting into the next leg of the journey. 🤔

Yea, Jimmy Smits, Star Wars, LALaw! 🙃

Ummm, Det. Bobby Simone would like to have a word…

So…it's done. Everything is hard, and nobody escapes clean in this version of the SW universe. Dedra on Narkina (something), Partagaz (always in charge) taking charge of his own fate, and Heert, despite being a short timer, going out like a human shield.

Perrin will probably drink himself to death, if Davo doesn't have him killed first. Leida will be stuck in a loveless marriage, and otherwise remain oblivious to most things except herself.

(As far as we know?) Luthen doesn't get a medal. Klaya didn't get a medal. Andor didn't get a medal. And so on. Sure, Luke and Han did the actual deed, but not the dirty work, and were the ones rewarded with medals and money.

Like Nemick, and the others, perhaps Andor got a toast at least.

Man, it was great to have something other than some paper-thin characters in Star Wars.

Speaking solely to Kleya Marki…

Elizabeth Dulau has said that if Kleya was presented with a medal, she'd probably refuse it. I did like the fact though that when she's walking around at the end looking at the Yavin morning routine, Dulau says that was Kleya taking in all that she and Luthen had worked to achieve. The Rebel Alliance was their work. More so Kleya's though as Kleya was the one really behind it all.

Also…Denise Gough says that it makes her happy that Dedra met the fate she did.

Elisabeth Dulau and Denise Gough are revelations in this series. Well all were great, I must saw what a terrific female cast and the characters they played! All starting from Fiona Shaw to the young lady who played the child Kleya. As for Dedra's fate? Couldn't happen to a nicer person.

Denise Gough has said that she was ready to give up acting after a failed Game of Thrones spinoff. Then, the part of Dedra was offered to her. Gilroy had seen her in a play and wanted her specifically for the role.

Amazing what life can bring you sometimes.

And yes, a very strong female cast - which I absolutely loved.

When I said I never saw that coming, it was a brilliant twist how Dedra Meero, master of her domain, a potent threat to the rebellion, held back by the limits of the Imperial power structure saw her moment of triumph cornering Axis implode on her. I thought Rael would kill her, before killing himself. And she was so gleeful in cornering her elusive prey, instead of walking in, say her words, then stun him, easy for me to say, but she knew he was dangerous, and it’s possible his shop face of congeniality deceived her long enough for her to lose him.
Then it being followed by the Kalea Hospital Op, and the final straw, the takedown in the apartment complex which seemed like an easy affair except for the K-2SO lethal wildcard, the strike team never saw that coming, and what so deceptive is that as a turned Imperial Security Droid, they all would give it extreme benefit of the doubt, when ordinary, even heavier hand held blaster don’t seem to effect this droid, and then they were dead. Anyway, even though I fully knew how ruthless the Empire is with failure, I did not anticipate the fate of Meera or Major Partagaz which is wonderful writing.
Speaking of strong women characters and performances, there were many and it was outstanding, Mothma, Sartha, Kaz, Bix. Cinta’s end was so tragic, such a waste. She was a scarily potent operative, how she could blind you with her meak demeaner, how easy to misjudge her, then BLAMO! I agree with the assessment of stone cold when it came to her duty (End of season 1). Bix basically had her mind melted, but she survived, permanently damaged, and recovered to some great degree of normalcy, but not completely, a great performance. It really struck me that the method of mental torture employed in this story was so terrifying that the prospect of enduring it, death could be viewed as the easy way out. 😳

BTW a shout out to Ben Mendelsohn's portrayal of Director Orson Krennic - he was really scary - the bit when he put his finger on Deedra's head shocked me, it was apparently improvised by Ben Mendelsohn and caught Denise Gough by surprise.
