A week before the announcement they were trolling apple about the things you won’t find on an Apple phone and a week later rushing to copy them
That would be funnyThey'll probably call it Samsung Island.
Well I think the fact that Apple is utilizing what would be a pill shaped dead space in to something interactive in and of itself is a cool feature. Nobody saw it coming and it's the one feature I find most interesting on the 14 Pro. All other aspects of the 14 Pro are very iterative from the 13 Pro, but leave it Apple to execute something like Dynamic Island well. Features like that are what Apple is really good at. Hopefully it continues to develop and not die off the way 3D Touch did.Android lets you play around with things like this in a way that iOS doesn't. I don't use Android so I have no idea if this is actually a significant change for the better in terms of daily phone use. The Dynamic Island looks pretty cool, but it remains to be seen how much it improves the iPhone experience. One thing right off the bat though is getting rid of that annoying intrusive "low battery" pop-up. That right there might make me want to upgrade.
They’re having too much fun with the megabyte count to care!I’m waiting for Samsung to make a stupid commercial making fun of it then copying it. Come on Samsung you know you want to 🤣
Android OS (aka Google) is not copying. This is just an app made by a user. Android has the option to do stuff like this.... I can also my my Android look like a windows 10 PC if i wanted to. A simple free software allows android users to do stuff that Apple wants to charge its users $1000+ for. Not sure who is "losing" in this scenario? Pretty sure its apple as this is the only "innovation" they can come up with to charge money for anewslightly altered phone design.
I think you took my comment way way too seriously. Google will survive just fine without you here to defend them on MacRumors 😂😂😂First of all, this is from some 3rd party developer and not a manufacturer implemented feature. Secondly, this is not 2010. Times have changed. Android is not laggy. It is now a lot smoother with even faster scrolling speed. If you want to talk about bad lags, look no further than the iphone version of google maps.
Did I miss one of their silly commercials? Some of them were funny. I thought the haircut one was pretty funny. They’re having too much fun with the megabyte count to care!
It's because Android users have the ability to modify the OS like this and their phones always get cool features like a back display for notifications. So they're used to cool stuff like this, while we end up waiting years for stuff like customizable lock screens and always on displays.
We really need sideloading...
Can you deny permissions, but still install the app?And it’s scary that it requests access to everything - including reading your messages, notifications and your screen.
So yeah. Dynamic privacy concerns….
If this is supposed to be a dunk on Android, its a terrible comparison. The tablet market is pretty much dead... except for apple who seems to be trying to replace the mac with ipads.I develop on both Android and iOS, we used to have 600 android tablets and an iPad, 2 years later we have 800 iPads and 10 legacy Android tablets.... It is what it is....
Google is responsible for upkeep on the Google maps app on iPhone. If it’s laggy it’s because of them.First of all, this is from some 3rd party developer and not a manufacturer implemented feature. Secondly, this is not 2010. Times have changed. Android is not laggy. It is now a lot smoother with even faster scrolling speed. If you want to talk about bad lags, look no further than the iphone version of google maps.
