Good is better, better is
I agree that price sensitive doesn’t mean poor.
However, Android users using their money smartly? If that’s the case, nobody would buy the overpriced Samsung Galaxy S9 when, as you stated, a $200 phone does the same thing. Samsung flagships are up there in the $800 -$1k price range. If Android users are smart with their money, Samsung won’t be the biggest Android OEM.

It’s all about brand. Apple and Samsung are the top brands, and consumers, regardless of platform, gravitates towards the top brands. Simple as that.
I paid $450 cash for my S9+

The S9 is not the most sold smartphone and it still doesn't invalidate my argument that Android users are smarter since with the S9 you are getting much more for your money than with an iPhone.

For the sake of fairness; if I complain about labelling Android users 'poor', this is just as laughable. There are completely valid reasons of getting the iPhone too and there are people to whom value just does not really matter that much. Overall, when talking about high-end phones, I find the whole discussion about 'value' both dubious and hilarious.

If it's fair calling Android users poor than 99% of iPhone users are either celebrities or just people who want to show the Apple logo, the rest 1% like the ecosystem.

This was me back when I went from the Note 3 to the 6+. I couldn't ever go back to a small screen... Now, I have an iPad 2018 and that's my primary device - I do calls on it via airpods, read books, write notes in Notability with Pencil, and can't imagine a screen smaller than the iPad. :p Been with Apple ever since - 6+, 6s+, 8+.
