Got the game about a day ago, never played Animal Crossing before, at the moment my 3DS is seeing more action than anything else. Boy, is this game addictive.

I have no idea what I should be doing in my town, I have been fishing constantly and paid off Tom Nook's initial mortgage already, it's an achievement right!

Anyway, my town has peaches (I sold the perfect peach this morning, oops), my friend code is: 1864-8934-8654

I'm not sure how I leave my town open to a ransacking, so any help there would be appreciated.

Cheers

You have to go into the train station and talk to the monkey. Before you do you need to have taken a picture with your town pass (he will tell you to do that if you have not).

I went ahead and added you. Here is my friend code again. 3883-5633-4176

I'm enjoying this game more than a 27 year old with a real mortgage should

I've done all that, added you as well.

I've left all my peach trees today if anyone wants some.

Thanks very much. I am just getting used to this. Really enjoying the game, just got a house (with a nice 40,000 Bells debt) and I am just making home improvements. Sadly I missed out on the net to catch insects as it appeared in the Nookling's shop, I got the shovel instead and next day it was gone.

I am also trying to figure out how to get a 100 percent rating to get the mayoral development permit too.

I am 30 this year so do not feel bad :D

Just talk to everyone every day, pull out weeds, etc. It adds up. After a few days you'll be at 100

And the easiest way to get furniture is through Streetpass. I tossed the 3DS in a backpack yesterday, went with the GF and her family to Disneyland. When I got home I had 20 houses to order stuff from

And I'm 34 but I have friends playing smurf village and bubble crap on their iPhones so whatever

So I'll be traveling to the other coast next week - when I update the time on my 3DS will anything bad happen and when I change it back - should I even touch my system clock for my 2 week trip or just leave it alone ...

It shouldn't make a difference. People change their system lock to cheat all the time.

Which coast are to visiting?

That is an impressive list. I came across gyroids when I visited a friends town. What exactly are they and their use?

As far as I can tell they are just a decoration. They look like a "living fire hydrant", to me at least. As far as a use? I THINK they are just for looks. I vendor them. I haven't bothered to update my gyroids list because they are a dime a dozen. They vendor for 1500 or so Bells a piece, and you can usually pull 1-2 out of the ground per day. For some reason they are also not orderable from the catalogue, which is why I haven't bothered to list them. They certainly aren't a desireable item, sat least not by anyone I have spoken to.

Thanks for the clarification. My gate will be open at weird times because I am based in Bangkok but I try to leave the gate open every time I play in case anyone happens to want to come and visit. I do not have much though. I am working towards paying off the 40,000 debt to Nook and the development permit.

One of the reasons Animal Crossing is so addictive, for me, is the sense of accomplishment that I get during one session of play and I feel I have actually achieved something. This is rare to find in many games now.

I paid off the 40,000 debt (did it twice, forgot to save the first time and just powered off the 3DS for some reason - no resume option) and I got the development permit too. I have not played it for a while though, I got back in to Ridge Racer.

Visiting Las Vegas for a work trip and then vacationing in Los Angeles - can't wait :)

I'm about six hours South of Vegas. To far to stop in and say hey:)

I'm opening my gate an hour earlier than I normally do, so lom o I after 9pm arizona time.

Currently I'm looking for monochromatic furniture to do the feng shui thing.

I just started playing tonight, so I haven't really done much, all the shops are closed since it is late here on the east coast. I'm still learning the game.

My friend code is 4725-9299-2864 (name: joaguilar)

I added all the codes in the threads, so please add me back if you get a chance. :)

Thanks!!
Will check it out. It is a bummer that I only have time to play late at night (at least during the week), so I haven't even been able to purchase a house. I'm thinking about changing my 3DS' clock...

Hey everyone. I've got five baskets of three perfect peaches. If you want one just add me and we can work out a time for me to leave my gate open.

P.S. this game is amazing. Hands down the most relaxing game I've ever played.

So what are some good ways of making bells? I've relied on the non-native fruit forests that got me through Wild World. Are there any new systems? I've heard something about beetles too, but all mine are quite cheap!
