How do you do a clip longer than 10 seconds? Or do you have to clip them all together?

These are funny. I will watch and laugh but would never make one myself.

Like with every trend this will die off in a few weeks or months but I'm curious to see what those sensors will be able to do later on. In a few years they might be able to put this tech on the rear camera. It's basically a shrunken Xbox Kinect system.

I would love to try this out but how do I get sound on it? When I hit screen record it’s just silence

Inb4 that one android user that claims android had this feature back in 2009....

If you’re using it right in iMessage you have to hold your phone up to another device to get the audio. If you’re using the screen recording feature to go longer than 10 seconds you have to use other software like iMovie to add in the audio.

Macrumors’ obsession with emojis is strange.

Not really given the number of people who complain about all things emoji. I’m surprised they don’t work in a way to have more articles about the headphone jack.

Ok, I feel stupid, but I’m not able to create these like the ones I see. How do you crop the video frame so just the Animoji shows, and include the audio when editing in iMovie? I used the screen record function and recorded the audio playing from my iPad. When I play the clip from my camera roll, the audio is there. It can’t be that complicated, can it? Yes, it’s a slow night. Lol

Think bigger. The tech behind animoji could one day allow you to control your phone with glances and gestures, and go on to form the foundation of Apple glasses.
Right on. I think about the power of acting - expressing - communicating and them mapping and translating that to a digital space that can be seen and shared and I get very excited.

This is the beginning of a more intimate, powerful and organic relationship with the device.

I tried and tested this out, fun for a bit. I wonder how long it will be until the animoji fad wears thin. 15 minutes of fame, with an animal mask. In todays short attention span tech community, I am curious how long this will last. :p:D

I’m thinking it’ll last for as long as people are using emojis.

I never understood the hate and criticism for the animoji. I admit it's rather silly and I don't see adults having much use for it, but the technology underlying it is rather advanced. This is more like the tip of the iceberg but obviously, a lot of people don't see that. Apple is testing the waters for 3D avatars and bringing it to the masses with a very simple app. What's wrong with that? It's like someone throwing around a paper airplane. It might not make much sense or seem very important but it's the theory behind flight that's important.

So many people kept making fun of the poop animoji and saying that's what represented the iPhone X the most. Absolutely crazy. There's a lot more to iPhone X than poop animoji. That 3D mapping is really neat and could be used for so many other things much more complicated. Those cartoonish characters are just simple skin wrappers. Wait until people start using fully-featured, textured human faces.

By the time I can afford to do this, no one will be doing it anymore and I'll just be some kind of loser. Well, some different kind of loser...

//where's my Eeyore animoji?
