So basically I am going to have to spam semi-useful, but ultimately useless replies if I ever wish to see the marketplace. That sounds like a great idea to clutter the place up. I personally prefer to only speak up when I have something useful to add to a conversation.

You have a point, but the pros are suppose to outweigh the cons. I guess they want to make sure that those who participate in the Marketplace are active members. As a buyer or seller, I wouldn't want to buy or sell something to/from a person with questionable forum activity.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

lol I have 2200 posts and I've been here 12 years. How do you post that much? XD

Posting "semi-useful, but ultimately useless replies" isn't a good strategy. The rules specifically discourage members from that type of posting pattern to gain access, and if it's brought to our attention, the posts will be deleted.

Remember, the Marketplace is only an extra perk here; MacRumors isn't primarily a place to buy and sell. There are other sites you can use, where a post count requirement isn't in place.

I have more than enough posts due to often replying to many threads at once, hoping to help someone in need, though I have taken a back seat for a month or two.

If one has nothing much to do, one can easily get 30 or more posts per day, I think I even had 100 posts per day once or twice, which can happen, if a thread is fast growing and the OP is still interested in solving the problem sooner than later (I remember a thread, where the a poster and I tried to solve a problem within a day via forty or so of my posts and around the same number of his or her posts).
Many members here have high daily post rates, look at one of the Top 50 Posters Extrapolated threads by Doctor Q.

how about a real high post count, say 1500? that overrides the 6months

there are a couple of new members that have been real active in the past few months who have 1000+ posts who are known around the forums, like alphaod who has 2000+ posts but has only been a member for just over 3 months

Agreed. 1,000 posts and 3 months should override 6 months.

I've been here ten years and just hit 250 posts but i still dont see the marketplace, haha.

The answer is in the Forum FAQ:
Once you reach 100 or 250 posts, you may not immediately be able to post in these forums. The privilege is added automatically when the forum system does routine processing, so check again in a few hours. The delay is normal, so please do not contact us to report it as a problem on the same day that you reach 100 or 250 posts. When you first gain access to the Marketplace forum, you will see it in the Community section of the forums.

I haven't seen any new post in this thread, and I wonder if the classified thread still alive?

If you're asking about the Marketplace forum, it's still around, available to forum members with a minimum post count of 250 (as displayed in their User Profile) and who have been a MacRumors member for at least 180 days (about 6 months).

This one doesn't make much sense either, 250 posts is not particularly a lot on this forum. Not sure what "tagging" means either

Adding it to your watched threads I suppose. There are easier ways to do this , of course, such as clicking the "Watch" button in the top right corner.
