I'm not surprised that parts are getting leaked, they just seem to be earlier than usual. Wouldn't it be nice if Apple did a surprise early launch out of the blue.

"We've moved the power button from the top to the side"

I can't wait to hear Jony slobber all over this power button placement in their ads, calling it "innovative" and " groundbreaking". :D

Not to mention the large screen format of course...

These rumors are coming fast and furious, does that mean an update sooner then later?

no it means that production is beginning now so that millions of orders can be met by September.

this happens every year...

Calm down.

Hate power button on the side. I always seem to accidentally press it when using a Samsung in stores. Never will I want Apple have it on the side.

While I believe that Apple kicks Samsung's products and talent on every single category they compete in, we have to give credit to Samsung in some areas.

Apple is responsible for many things, and Samsung is also responsible for some achievements. They are pushing AMOLED forward and have the best screen available on a smartphone. Even if you do not agree with that statement (I don't), what they did was amazing.

Another thing they did great was "phablets" (stupid name). The note 3 has a huge screen, but it isn't a huge phone, all things considered. Ergonomics were also mastered, and having the Sleep/Awake button is a must.

You are walking down a street and want to check something with one hand? The button must be there, on the side. Like all things, people get used to it. You didn't because you do not use said phone regularly.

It's all a game of tradeoffs. If you ask me, those little things are a small price to pay for the huge benefits of a much larger form factor. I just can't wait to see what Apple can do with it.

:apple::D

The reason for the power button being at the side is that it will he easier to access. With a bigger /4.7/5.5 phone the power button being and the top would make it harder to reach then you would all complain the phone is hard to use with one hand. Therefore the power button will in my opinion be at the side so that it will be easier to reach.

Something I've never understood.

Are they just going on the same rumours we've seen?

In other words, what does this really indicate to us? Just guesses by companies eager to get their cases to market as soon as the iPhone 6 is released?

Yes, and absolutely yes. Its a gamble, but being first to market with a new case for a new device is huge. But with the way rumors and leaks are flowing this year, I think every case manufacturer will know exactly what the 6 is going to look like before it's announced.

More case maker roulette. How many of these case rumors turn out to be true? I'd guess very few. I'd wait to see leaked iPhone chassis before drawing any conclusions. And given past years we won't have to wait that long for that kind of leak.

Exactly, seems like case manufacturers don't care to be certain. Clearly you would lose more money taking the chance of these leaked schematics are legit versus waiting to get the official specs. All those tear drop cases were such a waste...

Large screen format . . . . "done right!"

And of course the sponges on various forums will soak that crap up.

100% summer release

No way we see these types of leaks in April when there is a fall launch

Usually these case leaks are 1-2 months before release

It's not much money at all in the long run. For the average user $10,000 is a lot, but if you own a company, even an LLC that's a drop in the bucket.

The benefit of being close, then needing to make adjustments to be closer to launch is far better than waiting for the schematics and building a case from scratch.

Meanwhile, those that took the chance and came close are already shipping their cases to various retailers.

I like the placement, easier to sleep/wake with one hand. This is the price everyone pays for some who are clamoring for a larger screen.

So what are people doing with their iPads....big problem turning it off/on?

You know I have been waiting for an iPhone with a larger screen since the iPhone 4, that's almost 5 long years.

For people that can't stand the thought of not being able to reach every corner of the screen with their short one handed fingers, there is always the option not to buy it.... :)

When's the last time Apple released a new phone without releasing beta software first? iPhone 4 was announced at WWDC in 2010. But iOS 4.0 beta was released to developers on April 8. Are we really to believe Apple will release a new phone at the same time they announce iOS 8?

Nope not ever.

These are leaks from 2013 prototypes screens ...Apple is tying bigger screens since february 2013, so thats one of them

Not sure I understand moving the power button to the side. Is there a reason, or moving it just to move it?

When you hold the phone, accessing buttons on the sides with your fingers as you grip it is easier than hitting top buttons.

So why do people think we're getting new phones this summer then?

Because it's the internet, everybody has twitter and wants everything right "NOW" and if Apple does not please every single demand they are doomed and lost their cool to Samsung?

Best hardware with the best software. Sounds like a winner to me!

Unless you want a decent camera (you need iOS software for processing).
Unless you want the best apps.
Unless you want the most efficient and battery friendly software,

Unless you want the most dev-friendly and supported software.

Actually, the Nexus 5 camera is pretty much on par with the 5S camera now. Best apps is debatable as is your battery claim.

Your argument is flawed. The iPad (mini included) was never meant to be used with one hand. Held maybe, but not used.
