Really mac rumours? this year didn't get the liquid metal upgrade to mbp and you just say it's coming next year? like no ****.....

apple really hasn't done much with the mac pro line, shame if this is true that 2012 is a re-design. especially since this current model has grown so long in the tooth. a spec bump again... with current sales of computers performing well you think hitting the market with a nice re-design would really solidify apples position and keep the competition scrambling.

I've been piggy backing off a work computer for personal use and was really thinking about taking the plunge on a 13" or 15" but if it's another spec bump I might as well wait. I'd like something different from the same basic machine i've used for the past 2 years. (current work machine is a 15 al mbp c2d 2.8)

so far this macbook refresh was an epic fail for me. hopefully the full redesign in 2012 is good. :)

I hope this isn't true. I don't want to buy an iPad that is said to be the 2.0 version when there is a wildly better one coming out a few months later.

Bummer

This article confirms my suspicions related to the MBP. This would be my first Mac, but I think I'm going to have to sit back and wait until the 2012 MBP refresh, which should be on cycle for a complete redesign. It seems forever away but I'm willing to wait for a better product. This article does encourage me to look a little more seriously at the 13" Air, which should be getting a refresh by the fall. Just can't justify the new MacBook.

Thank you very much, I'll just stick to Windows for the next 4 years..

Huge disappointment, as it would be my first macbook.

Huh? Who said anything about a minor update to the MBP? The rumoured specs for the 13" look beastly (with the known exception of video), and that just the 13".

All this rumour is talking about is a casing update next year, which I don't think anyone expected this round.

Phht

The moch up looks too much like an original iPhone... So not the look the iPad will have!

Did it occur to anybody that this new laptop we've seen leaks for tomorrow is just a refresh and update of the macbook model and that macbook pro's will come later? All we've seen pictures leaked of are for a 13" computer that is very modestly filled with hardware. The others would have to be way ahead to be a significant improvement over the current line up.

Wouldn't a realistic view of the iPad roll out be that the March release will see the new form factor, camera and a weight reduction, and therefore be called the iPad 2. Later in the year as a pre Christmas boost they'll add the Retina display, but it will still be the iPad 2. That way they can produce the large intitial sales numbers with the available screens until they get adequate manufacturing numbers for the hi-res display. What do you think?

agreed, if the air was a bit more powerful i'd have gone with the 13" with the nice screen, but as a pro user i need more power. I was hoping re-designed macbooks would tempt me enough, some excellent rumors but i feel i'll be let down with just a spec bump. I don't get a personal machine very often so I'd rather continue to use the work one as long as i can.

we'll see what gets released tomorrow but as of now I won't make the plunge on either.

Next year will probably be a speedbump and new case. This year is the huge spec/chipset jump.

Yea, I like the old design. I'm sure Johnny ive has made something we will all love. But what is this September news. Apple has never done two releases in one year for their idevices. This and the iPhone are apples pride. I would be very surprised if they did a crappy job on this release to hold us over for a few months. Not like apple. They have had over a year to design it. I guess Wednesday will give us a better idea. I don't really want to wait another few months when I have the money ready :(

Actually, if Apple made significant design changes due to strong competition from competitors then I would mind holding on to my current iPad.

Competitors are coming on strong and I think Apple realizes that the can't string customers along with an incremental update to the iPad. To better stomp the competition coming out with a stronger product a few months later would be a smart idea.

Just sucks for people that have been sitting on the fence. Also, I doubt Apple would ever refresh a iOS device that quickly. Just my opinion.

I'm starting to suspect that these two iPads released this year rumours are coming from a competitor! Could kill sales if people thought a newer, better version was coming in only six months.

I wonder if there will ever come a point when Apple decides to be a bit more open about their hardware release schedules

I would reserve judgement until you see what's announced. Waiting a year for an updated case design (and the obvious updated specs) seems rather crazy to me, unless there is specific feature you were really looking forward to that's not included.

Can you promise to stay off these forums until then please? I've seen you trolling with that same comment at least twice now. How about you go install drivers for your mouse or something?

Just my opinion but I don't think this is a smart business move.
